Seduced by the dark side of the Force, Sith Lord Darth Vader led the Empire's eradication of the Jedi Order.

So, Hasbro decided to develop a “new” scale of 5POA action figures? What the heck? After claiming to “forever” place the 5POA 3.,75-inch line into their vault, they return it just a few years later at a slightly elevated scale (still 4-inch, FYI), with an animated look and feel. This line will undoubtedly frustrate collectors of The Vintage Collection. This line won’t take “money” away from the budgeted TVC line. Still, it also won’t help it by creating unnecessary competition while wasting resources that Hasbro could better apply to a starved collector line for love and attention. That said, Darth Vader isn’t a surprise for this line. Hasbro should represent the greatest villain of all time in every single scale that Hasbro produces. What the line needs, however, is fewer female action figures as action figures with an animated look are primarily geared toward boys, and they want male heroes and villains instead. This line opened with Ahsoka Tano and Sabrin Wren, and we hope that’s all for a while, except for other Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy female characters to pepper the line as well. Darth Vader has a distinct look. It’s a caricature-like interpretation of the Sith Lord. It doesn’t look too chunky, but you don’t see “realism” all that much throughout the action figure. Hasbro designed Darth Vader with a removable cape and a fully lit lightsaber. It comes with five points of articulation and, unfortunately, lacks a waist joint. But overall, it’s not as terrible as we thought it would be, and seeing and holding it in hand allows for a better assessment. Sadly, this line is overpriced. The basic figure line is set with an MSRP of $9.99, and there isn’t enough articulation or nostalgia present to make that worthwhile for us.
