With extra special thanks to Alliance Collectibles, The Jedi Temple Archives is proud to add the 2nd wave of the Mos Eisley Cantina Sets to the Saga 2002 Visual Guide!!
This never released set of figures that was cancelled by Hasbro includes our favorite bartender Wuher, the long awaited for smuggler Kitik Keed'kak and the famous evil Dr. Evazan.
There have been rumors of the possibility of this set finally making its way to retail, however so far it looks like the Saga blue carded versions may just be a vision of the past. Alliance Collectibles does have a very limited quantity on hand so head on over if these rarities are something that just can't be missing from your collection!
Special Exclusives Visual Guide Open
Posted Friday, March 26nd 10:35am (EST) by: Mike
Ever wonder what line the Star Tours Droids belonged too? How about the Silver Anniversary Figures? Well, here at the Jedi Temple Archives, we believe that some figures are so special, and so exclusive they deserve their own Visual Guide.
That is why we have opened the Special Exclusives Visual Guide. Sacul, the Star Tours Droids, convention figures, and other figures that are not part of any of the established lines, will be found in the new section. A few factors are looked at as to what we consider a special exclusive, such as packaging, the function the figures come from, and their availability to the general public.
A perfect example of a Special Exclusive are the two (2) 25th Anniversary 2-packs that were given away at some Mexican Conventions a few years back. These 2-packs were the same 25th anniversary figures that showed up in the Power Of The Jedi line, however, while the figures were the same, the packaging got a new look. It is the packaging and the availability to the general public that makes these items Special Exclusives. To take a look at the specific sets, click on the thumbnails below, to check out the whole Visual Guide, click HERE. We would like to thank BriansToys.com, in allowing us to use their images of the carded Mexican Exclusives seen below.
Big Announcements in Insider #75
Posted Thursday, March 25nd 7:15pm (EST) by: Pete
The Toy Box section of Star Wars Insider #75 has some big news today about what we can expect to see in 2004. To start off with, there is confirmation of the repainted Sandcrawler. It will come with two Jawas (that appear to be of the POTF2 variety) and a silver Death Star Droid!
Other vehicles that were announced are Darth Vader's Tie Fighter, Boba Fett's Slave one from The Empire Strikes Back and the Y-Wing...You'll find them all gracing the shelves of Toys R Us this year.
And, if that was not enough news for you there was the confirmation that the OTC basic line will include only 2 waves of newly sculpted characters. The Dagobah wave will kick the line off, re-carded figures will hit the shelves during the year and the Cloud City wave will round out 2004. The figures on the Retro Cards will "have added articulation and deco - more than Hasbro usually includes on basic figures".
Pictures of the Sandcrawler and the Retro Carded Leia can be seen on pages 85 and 86 in this month's Insider!
The Mighty Jabba Added To The Visual Guides
Posted Monday, March 22nd 7:45pm (EST) by: Mike
We have updated the 2004 SAGA Visual Guide today with The Mighty Jabba the Hutt. Jabba is from wave 3 of the Ultra line. Also part of this wave is Jabba’s Palace Court Denizens, which are already part of the 2004 SAGA Guide.
Jabba the Hutt has been on many fans wish lists and now Hasbro has answered. This great Hutt comes with his arm rest, water pipe, as well as a sample of his favorite snack. Also, another feature is an interchangeable tongue that can put in place to recreate some of Jabba's more attractive scenes.
To check out the pictures, click on the thumbnails below, and, if Jabba is on your smuggling radar screen, head on over to Alliance Collectibles to order everyone's favorite piece of worm ridden filth today!
Cantina Wave 2 and Ephant Mon
Posted Monday, March 19th 10:45pm (EST) by: Pete
Alliance Collectibles has a bit of good news for a few lucky collectors. They have been able to secure a small amount of the second wave of the Saga carded Mos Eisley Cantina Sets that includes Dr. Evazan, Wuher and Kitik Keed'Kak...Keep an eye on their site for information on ordering these extremely rare items.
In other news coming in from some of our reliable sources is that Hasbro is soliciting vendors to see if there is still interest in the Ephant Mon wave...if you have not had the chance to get the coolest of the Fan Choice figures yet, now may be a good time to write to your favorite vendor(s) and let them know what you think...this could be a chance where our voices make a difference!

Red Leader X-Wing Added To Visual Guides
Posted Thursday, March 18th 12:30am (EST) by: Pete
Today we update our 2004 SAGA Visual Guide with 2 of the 5, Target Exclusive Collectors Cups. The cups are throwbacks to the Star Wars Glasses that were from Burger King in the late 70's
and early 80's. While they are throwbacks, they are not the same as the Burger King Glasses. The cups sport new graphics, and are missing the Burger King Logo. As an added bonus, each cup comes packaged with an action figure of the character that is portrayed on the cup.
Today we have the Episode I Cup, featuring Darth Maul, and the Episode IV Cup, featuring Obi Wan Kenobi. Click on the thumbnails below to see the detailed image.

The Jedi Temple Archives Are Now Open
Posted Sunday, March 14th 12:00am (EST) by: Mike
As many in the Star Wars collecting community may know, Artoosnews.com closed it's virtual doors on February 23, 2004. One of the more
popular features of Artoos News was the Visual Guides. Many hours of work went into the those Visual Guides, and when Artoos News went Super Nova, many thought
that those hundreds of Visual Guides were lost. Well, Many thought wrong!
Chuck Paskovics, Peter Hauerstein, and Michael Kelly, the top 3 contributors to the Visual Guides, along with the help of Phil Reasoner, have pooled their talent together and have brought the Visual Guides back to the Star Wars Community. Unfortuantly, not every entry in the Guides could be saved. However, the Staff here at JediTempleArchives.com, along with the help of our sponsor, Alliance Collectibles, are hard at work rebuilding what was lost. Today we open the site with our Vintage, Saga, and Clone Wars Guides operational. Check back often as we will not only be updating the new releases from the Saga and Original Trilogy Collection, but, we are working hard to bring the
Power Of The Jedi, Power Of The Force 2, and Episode I guides back online.
