The Black Series Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber Hits eBay

Posted by Paul | May 31, 2017 at 05:00 PM ET |

Do you want to be one of the first few people to own The Black Series Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber? There are a few on eBay for a lot of money. Special thanks to JTA reader Richard F. for the alert!

UPDATE: Cheaper one can be found HERE if you're interested.

See why there is no debate on why you need the Darth Vader (Lord Of The Sith) Premium Format Figure. We graciously thank Sideshow Collectibles for providing our review sample. It's the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Darth Vader (Lord Of The Sith)

In A Nancy Kerrigan Type Of Voice.... "Why, Why, Why?"

Posted by Paul | May 31, 2017 at 07:42 AM ET |

Why would anyone think that he could get this price for these two ultra rare figures? Or will he actually get it and perhaps more? Hasbro hinted that they'd consider re-releasing these two figure's in TVC's prime, we wonder if it's a possibility sometime in 2018 or beyond.... Special thanks to Sjefke for the disconcerting reminder.

We are receiving a significant amount of reports that those who pre-ordered wave 11 singles at GameStop are receiving notifications that the figures are now ready for pickup. Did you pre-order your figures here? Could this be a new reliable way to pre-order single figures going forward? Now if they could just figure out how to work this into an online pre-order it would be sublime. This may be the future folks because retail is screwing over the Star Wars action figure line and it should be at its prime. Special thanks to Alex G. and Colin for details on this report!

Wow! Hasbro Toy Shop's eBay store has added the Jawa and the Death Squad Commander for $19.99 and FREE shipping! Hurry if you want them! Special thanks to JTA reader Ginji A. for the alert!

UPDATE: These figures continue to toggle in and out of stock. Keep checking!

Imagine Waiting Six Months For A Crushed Darth Revan Figure!

Posted by Paul | May 30, 2017 at 01:55 PM ET |

We really don't mean to laugh at something as deflating as this, but the whole Star Wars collecting thing is just a complete disaster right now. Please Hasbro. Let The Vintage Collection save what's left of it. (i.e. follow the 2010-2012 way of thinking about the basic figure line and get those figures out there en masse). Let's recap things, shall we? Darth Revan becomes the most sought after TBS6 figure. Hasbro chooses other characters from the wave to release in solid case packs BEFORE Darth Revan. Darth Revan supply eventually becomes more plentiful after a grueling six month wait after its intended release date. Excited collectors wait for Darth Revan figures to arrive from Amazon. These figures arrive like they've been through a car crusher compactor right before arriving at doorsteps. Something has got to give. Special thanks to JTA reader Tpodielsky for sending these images to us as well as providing unintended comic relief. (We are however sorry that these figures came destroyed.)

Kylo Ren

Are you seeing this at your local brick and mortar stores? I wouldn't know as the Philly area doesn't get Star Wars products anymore and I haven't been on a store run in years. But we have received quite a few emails with concerns that express this is what is happening at stores that are getting new products. I would imagine that most stores haven't even received this yet, but what would I know. Let us know what it looks like in your area. Special thanks to Augstin for the store report! This image is from a Walmart in FL.

"I at one point had to say to Rian, ‘I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you’ve made for this character. Now, having said that, I have gotten it off my chest, and my job now is to take what you’ve created and do my best to realize your vision." That's a direct quote from Mark Hamill. He then of course goes on to say how much he respects Rian Johnson after that.... blah, blah, blah. Check out the full article at Vanity Fair HERE.

Review: Qui-Gon Jinn - TBS6 [P3] - 40

Posted by Paul | May 28, 2017 at 08:31 AM ET |

Obsess Much? Incredible Vintage Kenner Luke X-wing Collection

Posted by Paul | May 28, 2017 at 06:20 AM ET |

Check out this incredible vintage Kenner Luke Skywalker (X-wing Pilot) focused collection in Rebelscum's forums. I can relate to this as this was the figure that started it all for me. Special thanks to JTA reader CS E. for drawing our attention to it.

Tonight we're adding the awesome The Black Series [Phase III] Six Inch Imperial Royal Guard (38) to our Visual Guide database. Click below to have a look at this figure, and make sure to check out our complete review as well.

Imperial Royal Guard (38) - The Black Series [Phase III] - 6 Inch Figures

This is easily the best 6" figure to date. The Imperial Royal Guard may have a name not as recognizable as Emperor's Royal Guard, but we are giving the figure perfect score regardless. You're going to want at least a dozen of him. Hasbro knocked this one out of the park. Find out why this is a must-have figure in our Research Droids Reviews today. Posted by Paul | May 27, 2017 at 07:18 AM ET |

Are you still seeing this at your local stores, in particular Toys R Us? JTA reader Agustin sends us a disconcerting image. Why hasn't Hasbro pulled these, given store credit and/or encouraged stores to blow these out? #hasbropleasehelpus

JTA reader Scot G. writes in to let us know that the Walmart exclusive smart R2-D2 is on clearance for $30 IN stores. Brickseek shows every store in his area has it for that price. It's obviously not worth $100, but definitely a cool piece at $30.

One Reason Why We Stay Off Of Social Media

Posted by Paul | May 27, 2017 at 05:51 AM ET |

Subtweeting while utilizing sentence fragments and being completely unaware of homophones is a great deal more annoying and unprofessional than holding opinions that are different than your own. Oh, and being friendly and conversational to one's face while stabbing the back on Twitter is annoying and unprofessional too.
