"She look-a like-a man." What's with all of the gender-swapping in Disney Star Wars? Women are now replacing characters held typically by males, and it often doesn't fit all that well. Why does a female Imperial Officer wear the same uniform as a male counterpart? Why isn't their costume more contoured to the female form? And why hide the distinct female features behind a bulky and drab uniform? That's us just thinking out loud. The new Tala Durith (Imperial Officer) action figure from The Black Series [Phase IV} line isn't all-new, but there is some newness. Overall, it's another exceptionally boring action figure. The Black Series 6-inch line suffers from adding too many drab characters into the line without any meaningful additions of aliens and droids. Tala Durith (Imperial Officer) comes only with a blaster. Unfortunately, Hasbro opted not to include a removable cap or any other accessories here. Our sample had issues standing unassisted. One leg hangs lower than the other, interrupting the figure's center of gravity. That said, the paint operations look decent on this action figure. Although the figure is primarily gray, the Photo Real deco on the portrait came out well, and we see a strong resemblance to the actress. Leading female characters in Star Wars is a great thing. But lately, Disney Star Wars created are just trying to sex-swap all the established characters. But they also need to focus on another facet of diversity in the line: the inclusion of aliens, droids, and other background characters. That's what Star Wars is all about for collectors.
