If you need an example to prove that the Hasbro Star Wars line is at an all-time low, you needn't look further than Morgan Elsbeth. It is a character from a series that dies before you can blink your eyes. Hasbro has wasted its resources; get ready, THREE TIMES, to produce this character in three different formats. Hasbro will flood case assortments and precious retail space with Morgan Elsbeth in The Black Series 6-inch figure line, The Vintage Collection, and the 5POA Retro Collection. For an IP designed for ages four and up, can you see the 2023 Christmas wish lists with one of each? Instead, you could put coal in their stockings, and they wouldn't know the difference. Who wants a Hocus Pocus-looking witch that barely has a story to tell in the Star Wars: Ahsoka series? Not only is Morgan Elsbeth a wasted slot in the line, but Hasbro approached the figure poorly.
While Morgan Elsbeth is a well-designed action figure, it needs fixing. We'll first discuss the figure's highlights, and then we'll rip Hasbro a new one for aggravating us by adding this character to the 3.75-inch super-articulated scale. Firstly, Morgan Elsbeth has the sweetest and most lovely soft goods we've ever seen applied to an action figure. The figure's lower skirt seamlessly blends in with the action figure's molded upper body. But Hasbro used a premium fabric with delicate pleating and a gorgeous pattern throughout the pleats. Even more impressive is that the skirt looks like it has a lining, as the underside is a different color and contrasts with the outside beautifully. As a bonus, the skirt is wide enough and allows whole lower body movement. So, you won't experience any challenges or difficulties posing the figures in various ways. Your options are nearly limitless here.
It is egregious that Hasbro didn't include any accessories with the figure. Morgan Elsbeth comes with nothing. And that is unacceptable to us. Why couldn't they add another staff from the HK-87 Assassin Droid, which the character uses to battle Ahsoka Tano? But more importantly, if there were no weapon accessories to add here, why could Hasbro create an alternate portrait that shows Elsbeth's dark conversion, you know, with the streaks on the face? It's unacceptable that premium action figures in The Vintage Collection don't come with any substance or things with which they can interact. And we're sorry to repeat this, but Morgan Elsbeth only needed one bite at the apple to become an action figure. The 6-inch line could have been the last stop for Morgan Elsbeth. But Hasbo had to replicate the character in the Retro Collection and The Vintage Collection. Why? A Nightsister should look cooler than this.
