The Star Wars Retro Collection is inspired by the 1980s STAR WARS figures and features original figure design and detailing! Continue your collection from the galaxy far, far away!

Another addition to the Retro Collection is Princess Leia Organa (Boushh). It’s another poor imitation of the classic 1983 ROTJ Princess Leia Organa (Boushh Disguise) action figure. Yes, we all know the details are softer on the Retro Collection versions, but this one looks a little more off than the others. Not only did Hasbro mess up the color palette, it feels like they created an entirely new likeness or head sculpt for this action figure. You’ll find almost no similarities between the two portraits when compared side by side. Also, what happened to the harness? It looks like Hasbro redesigned that by removing all relevant details. We find their lack of accuracy disturbing. The removable softer-plastic helmet, as is the included blaster staff, is almost a perfect match. And you can still stow the blaster staff on the back of the figure by placing the handle in the pocketed space created by the figure’s left side and left arm. We strongly feel that Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) is an essential release for the Retro Collection to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Return Of The Jedi. But we also wish Hasbro found a way to recreate these replicas more faithfully. The card art is about as dull as any other figure in the Retro Collection. It comes on a flimsy card that looks like a memo notebook. And Hasbro isn’t concerned with matching the action figure names, so they’re the same as their vintage Kenner counterparts. We find that to be a shame. Unlike The Emperor, Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) is equally sized to the 1983 version, and that’s a good thing. The Retro Collection isn’t for everyone, and we doubt how much longer Hasbro will have our attention with this sub-line of 5POA action figures.
