Celebrate the legacy of Star Wars, the action-and-adventure-packed space saga from a galaxy far, far away, with this collection of premium, highly-detailed 3.75-inch scale figures and vehicles. (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

Here’s the smartest straight repack in The Vintage Collection’s reboot to date! If there’s a character that can serve as the symbol for Rogue One, it would have to be the Imperial Death Trooper. He was featured prominently on the Rogue One line look packaging art, and now he is re-released as part of The Vintage Collection basic figure line. First released as a 6” figure in The Black Series [Phase III] line, the 3.75” super-articulated Imperial Death Trooper sadly started out life in the Walmart exclusive line, much to the chagrin of collectors. Thank the Maker that they’ve lost ownership of this line. The Imperial Death Trooper is about as perfect as 3.75” super-articulated action figures come. There is no other way of saying it, folks. This figure is pretty much flawless. Hasbro should be very proud of what they achieved in this action figure. From the sculpting to the paint operations, Hasbro knocked this one out of the park. As an army builder, we’re happy to see this figure re-released. It makes total sense. What’s more, Hasbro gave this figure more accessories than its 6” counterpart. You get most of the accessories the character utilizes with one single purchase. (We have noticed one or two weapons that haven’t been produced in any scale yet, so it’s difficult to call this figure “complete” as is.)

The Imperial Death Trooper design is based on old Ralph McQuarrie concept artwork. But beyond that, there is no explanation as to why these characters are so tall and thin. When you inspect the figure’s limbs, you’ll discover how narrow they are in comparison to other armored figures in the line. It sets them apart from the rest of the Imperial army. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, they served as bodyguards to Director Krennic. They looked fantastic on film, and they look even better as action figures. Regardless, their athletic and tall frame aesthetic is still a mystery. Whatever the reason, Hasbro has incorporated these traits beautifully into the 3.75” super-articulated action figure. With an amazing 29 points of articulation, the Imperial Death Trooper can accomplish most positions and poses you desire. The figure is blessed with mostly ball-jointed articulation, and this allows a figure this small to look mobile and agile on your display shelf in your collection. The articulation is wonderfully added into the tooling that you almost can’t see it. Hasbro has come far with action figure approach. For example, the Imperial Death Trooper is wearing a ribbed bodysuit, and you can barely see the ball-jointed points of articulation because of this texture. In short, the figure is just splendid.

Although the Imperial Death Trooper is mostly black, the figure does come with beautifully applied paint operations. The sheen on the figure is astounding. We’re thrilled with the level of shininess the figure has. Hasbro did a great job here. The character has a green visor, and there are other green details on the helmet as well. There are also gray and silver details too. You’ll even find a dash of red color on his long rifle. And every highlight of color looks remarkable. The figure is shiny where it needs to be shiny, and dull where it needs to be dull. Nothing is out of place here. The Imperial Death Trooper comes with a removable pauldron/vest combination piece. This feature allows you to have either a basic soldier or a squad leader. 6” collectors don’t have this option with a single purchase, so we consider ourselves blessed. The Imperial Death Trooper also comes with a blaster pistol and a blaster rifle. And the figure can hold both of them beautifully, but sadly he doesn’t come with the strap to hold the smaller blaster at his side. The packaging is great. Although the bubble is too big, Hasbro chose a beautiful image for the artwork. They also utilized an orange-colored “name pill” and “figure backer” to accent the card back art. And the tape holding the bubbles on is gone. Hasbro fixed the sealing process, thank goodness. The Imperial Death Trooper is a perfect 10. We hope Hasbro keeps up this high level of quality. It doesn’t get better than this!
