The Phantom Retail Menace - Let's Not Ever See This Episode Again

Posted by Paul | January 30, 2014 at 02:52 PM ET

Today marks the official 2-year anniversary of the release of Episode I 3-D product. Stores officially (as per Lucasfilm edict, though many stores didn't honor it and leaked figures as early as December or even November of 2011) unveiled their Episode I 3-D displays full of The Vintage Collection, Movie Heroes, The Clone Wars, Discover The Force (Walmart exclusive), vehicles and other product on January 30, 2012 and that was the first time many of us saw TPM 3-D items in stores. (more....)

But not the last, unfortunately. And the rest is distribution train wreck history that continues to affect the hobby and Hasbro Star Wars product to this very day. How has this impacted your collecting habits. Do you still see this stuff everywhere like we do? How far (or how little) have we come since January of 2012 and the launch of what turned out to be an epic retail mess. Please leave your experiences in our comments. (Special thanks to Darth Eddie for this article idea....)
