TSC – Wave 3 – Battle of Geonosis
#017 C-3PO (with Battle Droid Head)

If you were like me, you bought a ton of C-3POs at marked down prices that were in the deluxe set. So I thought to pass on this one. But it does have a couple of note-worthy things to mention.

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
Not bad, but could have been so much better. The neat thing is that it includes a Battle Droid head to swap out anytime you want. So go get those "Jedi dogs!"
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons.

Articulation:
This figure is really lacking here. THough one kind of saving grace is that it retains the ability to be taken apart, just as the deluxe one did from a few years ago. Still it’s not enough.
Rating 2out of 5 Holocrons

Paint Application:
Marginally better than the deluxe set, it still lacks. I’m just not a fan of the armor color at all and would have rather seen a gray-washed figure instead of the akward brown and green armor parts.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall sculpt:
It’s a reissue, so what can we really say about it? The sculkpt overall is good, but it just doesn’t save the figure from itself.
Rating 3 out of 5 Holocrons

Accessories:
He comes with a battler droid head, blaster, and droid backpack, plus the obligatory stand. Not much else needed here, so it will suffice.
Rating 3 out of 5 Holocrons

Customization possibilities:
Repaint the armor and you got another pull apart droid. Not much else here, unless you buy two of him and make him four armed or four legged....
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Playability:
It’s one saving grace is that it can be taken apart and with the head swap included it almost doubles for two figures. Beyond that there just isn’t enough here to make this figure exciting.
Rating 3 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall Score:
Okay so if you’re into package variation then you’ve got another for the collection as it was packed with either the C-3PO on the figure and the Battle Droid head to the side OR vice-versa. I was disappointed that we were getting this particular reissue when I heard of it and seeing it again didn’t change my mind.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Respectfully submitted
-Sal
