ROTS #06 – Clone Trooper (Quick Draw Action) & Shock Trooper:

I highly anticipated this figure to come out as I'm an army builder. Let me say that I was NOT disappointed!

Since this figure is the same for both the review works for both of them. The only areas that I will differentiate on is “Paint Application” and the “Overall Score.”

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
Perfect! Though you may have to fish around for ones with better visors as some are painted more black than others.
Rating 3.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Articulation:
SA all the way with the exception of a waist swivel joint. (See previous reviews for my definition of “SA” (Super Articulation)
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Paint Application:
Clone trooper: Basically no paint to speak of since he's primarily all white with a black body suit.
Shock Trooper: Excellent!!! Wow did Hasbro do a GREAT job with this paint app. They only had to add red, but they did and awesome job of it. I would have thought the “tick” marks on the brow and “cheeks” of the helmet would have been near impossible, but not only did Hasbro do it but did it perfectly!

Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons - Shock Trooper

Overall sculpt:
The only two slight dings to the sculpt are that the upper legs are slightly out of proportion in that they are a little bigger than they should be and also the shoulders need to be a little bigger. Other than that this is a FANTASTIC sculpt. Only outdone by Clone trooper #41.

Rating 4.4 out of 5 Holocrons

Accessories:
Blaster Rifle, Blaster Pistol and 2 shoulder armor covers. These are pretty standard fare for clone trooper. I'm not sure what Hasbro was trying to do with the extra shoulder armor as we didn't see them strip these off in the movie to replace them with the Imperial symbol ones. But hey, give them credit for thinking. I do think they should have just gone with one shoulder (the clean one) and left it at that. Also the way they have these packaged in the bubble if you didn't look, you could have thrown them away by accident.
Rating 3.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Customization possibilities:
Oh, man...where to begin! The possibilities are near endless with the clone trooper. The Shock Trooper in and of itself is a variant and sort of like a custom so I don't see too many people customizing a Shock Trooper. Back to the basic white clone though. Man this one has some great potential. Just look at any number of clone customs on eBay and you'll see what I mean. Or check out the forums in our customs section and you'll find Rik_Biel's customs. Great job. Since there's just way too many customs to mention here, I'll just say have fun and custom away.
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Playability:
This is a kid's dream come true when it comes to playability. Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme, but it's a GREAT figure to play with! All sorts of great pose possibilities.
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall Score:
I'm psyched about owning more of the Shock Troopers. Here's hoping that it's short packed status is short lived and that they will become more plentiful in the future. I already own almost 200 regular clones so I'm pretty set there. This figure rocks the socks off of those crappy 3-pack of clones. I'd highly suggest passing by those 3-packs and getting the single carded clones instead. That is to say if you're looking to set them up in different positions. Getting 2 clones that highly poseable and you can switch weapons in MUCH preferred over the bargain basement scene filler 3-packs. Getting 2 clones that are highly poseable and you can switch weapons with is MUCH more preferred over the bargain basement scene filler 3-packs. You won't be sorry.
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons - Clone Trooper
