ROTS #55 – Obi-Wan Kenobi (With Pilot Gear):

When I first saw pics for this fig cropping up on the net, I wasn't too sure about how much I'd like it. By the end of the review though, I think you'll find that this is a figure worth getting.

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
Better than average sculpt. If you're a stickler for paint application then it may take awhile to find one without flesh coloring on the hair or hair color on his forehead, but otherwise the head is on the mark.
Rating 4.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Articulation:
Okay, this one caught many of us completely by surprise. I wasn't hoping for much, considering what the previous two Obi-wan's in the ROTS line had for articulation. This is a SA Obi!!! Dump your other ROTS ones and pick this one up! I'll admit that at first glance it seemed a little strange and the waist looked just a tad awkward. That feeling lasted all of a minute though. As I began twisting turning and bending the joints, I found that this Obi fig is one articulated fellow. I think this Obi's articulation is SO good that I may buy up several of these and swap heads with AOTC and TPM versions to have SA Obi's for those scenes that I have him already set up in. (It's just that GOOD!)
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons - And I don't often give out a 5!

Paint Application:
Reasonable paint app. Again it's kind of hard to screw up a Jedi's paint scheme. It may take a little bit of a search to find one without paint spillage on the head a described above, but overall the paint app is appropriate.
Rating 3.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall sculpt:
This is a very good sculpt. Even notice the little bump they put on the forehead...
Rating 4.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Accessories:
Lightsabers - one ignited and one just the hilt. Headset - Meh okay. Cloak! Now this cloak isn't soft goods, but it's a really good sculpt of a cloak. Some may say, “But his hands don't protrude out of the sleeves.” To that I answer, “Why should they?” It works for what it is. Obi isn't in his out robes too much in this movie anyway and I think it's a dead-on sculpt from many of the pics we've seen of him. Standard accessories for Obi and they do the job.
Rating 3.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Customization possibilities:
Okay, like I said, this is the Prequel Obi fig that's far and above better than any of it's predecessors. I'm seriously thinking about buying up a dozen of so, just to customize for AOTC and TPM versions. Good news there is he won't peg warm in my immediate area. Because the head is easily removed, this fig also makes a good choice when wanting to make other Jedi. Be they alien or other human. Hands down this is the best Jedi figure for customizing ever, IMHO of course.
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Playability:
What more can I say that hasn't already been said. This is one OUTSTANDING figure. More poses than you can possibly imagine. And yes I know, you can imagine quite a bit...
Rating 5.0 out of 5 Holocrons. Wow 3 “5's” this must be a good figure or something.

Overall Score:
Not too much is wrong with this figure. I could nitpick but I've done some of that already. But for those nit-pickings, this would have been a perfect figure. Still it receives the highest rating I've ever given a figure in the Overall score.
Rating 4.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Respectfully submitted
