TSC – Wave 2 – Battle of Hoth
#013 Darth Vader:

Do we really need another Vader?? Is anyone else as tired of him as me? I know he’s the iconic character from the Saga, but we could use a break, dontcha’ think?

Here are my subjective and objective reviews for the figure:

Head Sculpt:
Okay so this Vader has a removable helmet to view his head scars. Nice but we've seen it before. Not bad overall, but something just seems off with this sculpt. I just can't put my finger on it though.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Articulation:
I give this fig one thing. It does have pretty good articulation. Swivel everything except the knees which are ball jointed and the waist which doesn't have any articulation.
Rating 4 out of 5 Holocrons

Paint Application:
He’s almost all black and he’s bad. But other than some buttons, there’s not much paint on him to merit review, but I'll still give him a rating.
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall sculpt:
Considering we've seen this sculpt a couple of times already, I'd have like to have seen a little more done with this version. Really it’ s a good sculpt, I'm just getting tired of seeing the old man...
Rating 3 out of 5 Holocrons

Accessories:
Lightsaber, removable helmet and cape, plus the standard figure stand. Nothing over the top. But there’s not much more they could do with a Vader from the Hoth battle.
Rating 2 out of 5 Holocrons

Customization possibilities:
Hmm, unless you want to make a superior "Holiday" Vader from him, there’s not much to customize.
Rating 1.0 out of 5 Holocrons

Playability:
Well at least this figure is well known and has some good articulation to go along with him. He does hold his play value for that, so I can't knock him to hard.
Rating 4 out of 5 Holocrons

Overall Score:
Yet another Vader. I'll really be happy when Hasbro slows down with the Vaders. Trouble is when that day comes, it may also mean the end for the Star Wars toy line for good. So like it or not, we are going to see Papa Iron Lungs for years to come. Good figure to own if you don't already, but come on, who doesn't already have a good version of Vader yet?
Rating 2.5 out of 5 Holocrons

Respectfully submitted
