Each year, our friends at @SWTVC on Instagram run an elimination bracket in March. Characters are voted on by followers, Facebook group members, and readers of fan sites to see who TVC collectors want to see the most. This is an entirely fan-run project that has no official bearing on what gets made in the line, but Hasbro brand team members have mentioned many times that they follow the tournament. Whether by coincidence or by design, out of the 98 unique characters that havMarch e appeared on the bracket across the first three years of the tournament, 42 of them have been made.

It’s that time again folks! I enjoy participating in @SWTVC’s March Madness bracket each year. You helped make these brackets by making top 25 lists of figures you wanted to see in TVC. Between Facebook, Instagram, and several other sites, almost 1000 lists were compiled, the figures ranked, and the bracket seeded. It’s time to see if you can predict how this season of voting will go (or just pick your own winner)! Click here to download the 2023 March Madness bracket. Fill it out and post it in the comments of this article. Most importantly, be sure to follow @SWTVC or join the Star Wars The Vintage Collection group on Facebook as the actual voting will take place in polls there.
We’ve been asked by our @SWTVC friends on Instagram to participate again in their yearly March Madness TVC event! While not an official Hasbro event, several key members of the Star Wars team have let us know they follow this each year. In the past, many top figures in the tournament have become action figures shortly thereafter. If you are an O96 OG, or a modern media fan, use this chance to rally others to your cause! Well everyone, I announced a few weeks ago that I would be ending regular Toy Run Tuesdays and this is it. I’ll still be around and may post the occasional article but my health and education are leading me in a different path for now and my time will be limited for collecting. Let’s do a final round up today! Did you get any new toys for Christmas? What is your favorite new collectible you got this year? Click here to add your comment.
Hello Toy Runners! It’s Tuesday again and I actually have some new toys to share with you! I’ve been sitting on a pile of loot from BBTS for quite some time now. It had some items in it I needed to give for Christmas, so I finally shipped it. Take a look at what I got by clicking here.
Also revealed yesterday were photos of the all-new Endor bunker playset. This is part of the ROTJ 40th lineup. I am personally very excited for this set as it will be a major upgrade to one of my favorite dioramas. I’ve also included some photos from The Vintage Collection Facebook group taken from a Hasbro stream after the reveal. Take a look! Will you be adding this playset to your collection? Let us know in the comments.
Welcome back Toy Runners to another fine TRT morning! I got an amazing package of 3d printed goodies from good friend Peak OB1 customs. Take a look by clicking here. Please leave a comment if you’ve gotten any new Star Wars collectibles in the last couple weeks!
Hello Toy Runners! It has been a few weeks since my last post. The holidays have been keeping me busy (Halloween is a big deal at my house). I also just haven’t gotten a ton of new toys these last few weeks. I did update a few older customs with some new weapons and armor from the gifted Audes Workshop. Take a look and please leave a comment about your new toys by clicking here!
This week I went to a local toy show. They recently moved locations from Glendale to Mesa. That is much closer for me, and the new venue is easily five times larger than the old one. One could find toys from any line and any of the last several decades. Take a look and be jealous!
Over the last couple weeks I have been working on a few customs. I got a few new figures in the mail (currently for free). What did you add to your collections over the last couple weeks? Click here to take a look and add a comment!
This last week or so I took advantage of some sales on Dorksidetoys.com. Six TVC figures made their way to my house. I also had a frustrating Target experience, and I need to vent! Something for everyone today… Click here to read about it.
Hello Toy Runners, I’m pleased to join you again to discuss our recent toy finds! I took advantage of Migs Mayfield being on clearance at Target to build up my mudtrooper army. I also got the 332nd Clone Troopers from Amazon, and I took the opportunity to revisit my Captain Vaughn custom. Check it out!
Good evening Toy Runners! I hope your weekend was relaxing! The extra day off for Labor Day was certainly appreciated. I’m waiting on some TVC figures from Amazon, so no new figures for me this week, but I was able to add some new props to my small display shelf. They are made by Hammerhead Customs, a well known maker of 3d printed vintage figures. Take a look!
Now that I live farther from the city I don’t get to go toy hunting nearly as often. I stop at Target near my employer, but that is about it. This last Saturday we went out as a family, and we stopped at a couple stores that have collectible sections. I got two new figures in the mail that I feel like I had been waiting on forever… And lastly I finished a custom of a character from the Visions anime. Take a look by clicking here.
We’re just about caught up on my collecting activities while I was away. At the end of my leave I was afforded enough time (and enough free wood) to make a dream come true. About 3 years ago I designed a small papercraft model of a large building I wanted to make for my action figures, and, in a lot less time than I thought it would take, I finally was able to finish the real thing. Take a look here.
I’ve continued to work on customs and build my collection with new releases over the last few weeks. There are two troopers I finished customs of, and both are gaping holes in the ranks of Star Wars soldiers. I’m sure we’ll get one of them soon, and the other… we’ll see. Take a look at these customs and let me know if you think figures like them should make their way into Hasbro’s release schedule.
Hello everyone! Several Tuesdays have passed since the last TRT, but I’m back, baby! More like I’m back from having a baby… I’ve been on paternity leave these last 3 weeks. While I wish it was longer, I must return to my regular duties, which also means I have time again to write Toy Run articles. I hope to see lots of comments here and in the coming weeks! I didn’t have a lot of time to hunt, but I still received quite a few toys in the mail. Click here to take a look!
Since the late 70’s, the Star Wars toys Kenner, and then Hasbro, made were for kids. The current line-up of Hasbro toys, however, are adult collectibles. Perhaps no recent figure makes that more apparent than the Deluxe Boba Fett (Tatooine) release. At $28, it is unlikely that the average parent would make that purchase for a child or even teenage collector. Expensive action figures are not unprecedented, nor are adult collectible 1/18 scale lines. How does Hasbro measure up? Can they compete in this market, and how does this gateway figure compare to other similarly expensive lines? More…
One figure that has always been on my list, but always just a little too expensive for me to justify buying on eBay is TVC Tarkin. The cost is justified due to the demand of the figure. Honestly, though, the real reason I haven’t bought one is because the figure doesn’t really look that good. It’s an odd green color, and the soft goods were misused. I have taken steps toward making my own custom, but I would really like an all-new Grand Moff Tarkin. What do you think, Toy Runners? Is Tarkin worthy of an all-new slot in TVC? Let us know…
Good day to you, toy runners. Today I bring you a report from a local toy convention that was held in Glendale, AZ. There were plenty of toys from just about every line you can think of, vintage and modern. I ended up not buying any new Star Wars figures though! I’m at a point in my collection where I am very satisfied with what I have from past releases. I buy what grabs my attention now. See anything here that grabs yours?
How do you do, Toy Runners? Thank you again for tuning in to another Toy Run Tuesday. Preorders from the latest wave continute to arrive. I also updated one of my dioramas with a scale replica arcade carpet. Sometimes it’s good to take a turn with another collection to avoid fatigue, but that doesn’t help the wallet. Please share your new collectibles or just come to comment by clicking here.
Welcome to another weekly Toy Run Tuesday update! We hope everyone had an enjoyable time at SWC and a relaxing holiday. This weekend I finished a custom Paz Vizsla and got my Walmart exclusive Ahsoka. Did you get any new figures this week? If you attended SWC, please share your haul with us as well! Click here to continue.
Yesterday at the Hasbro panel at SWC, they announced a few pipeline figures for The Vintage Collection. All three were solid reveals that we’ve been waiting for a while to have in the line. Hunter from the Bad Batch has already been made in The Black Series, and while most fans were excited for the figure, it’s eventual repaint into Delta Squad was not well received due to the stylized sculpt. We need to make sure that the upcoming TVC version doesn’t make this same mistake…
Hello Toy Runners! I’m pleased as punch to finally have some new toys to talk about. The most recent TVC Wave is showing up in the mail and in some stores. I’m still awaiting several figures from that wave, but I did get my Death Watch mandalorians. Have you gotten your figures yet? Please share in the comments what you’ve found and how you have integrated them in your displays!
Good morning Toy Runners! We’re back today with a couple updates. Some solid army building figures were recently revealed, and I’ve seen some posts of people starting to receive the Death Watch mandos in the mail. I recently received a Mandalorian throne and finished a custom figure from another Lucasfilm franchise. Click here to take a look.
