AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) - TVC - Vehicles (Exclusive)

It’s so easy to blame Hasbro when things don’t go our way for the Star Wars toy line. Strange character choices, straight repacks and unrequested all-new figures often squeak their way into the toy line when prominent and fan requested characters get ignored or fall on deaf ears. Take your pick. We’ve even become a little too vocal in The Vintage Collection. Finally, a line that is the ultimate for collectors visually and then we still complain about what we still don’t have or why Hasbro has released another Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues) (VC04) figure. And while there may be merit to those arguments, we personally save our “complaints” for the items that don’t get added to that glorious packaging from long ago. For example, why wasn’t 2009’s LC AT-AT Driver (BD49) one of the first figures released in The Vintage Collection? Why were IG-88 (SL02), Bossk (SL01), Snowtrooper (SL23), Greedo (SL04) and Zuckuss (SL03) from the 2010 Star Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] Saga Legends line not released in updated “vintage” packaging or for the first time released in “vintage” packaging under The Vintage Collection banner? it’s examples like these where we choose to air our grievances. Why didn’t Jabba’s Throne get the TVC treatment. You get the drill.

We may never get great answers to these questions (at least the ones we want to hear), but when Hasbro does something right, we need to let them know that too. So with this review we personally want to thank Hasbro for rereleasing 2010’s SW [SOTDS] Imperial AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) in stunning The Vintage Collection packaging and releasing it as 2010’s TVC AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport). Because it’s literally the reward for being in this hobby in the neo classic era since 1995. The long and winding road has brought us to this point. You’ll notice that the photo gallery contains nothing but the packaging art. We think that this release is so magnificent for its packaging alone. So we’re devoting the pictures in this gallery to the glorious box art: full size and extreme close-up so you can savor all of the detail at your leisure. We don’t know the exact percentage because it’s qualitative, but we’d say that a “big” part of the collecting experience for The Vintage Collection is the packaging. And with the AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) Hasbro has hit a home run. You’re going to love this one, folks!

The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) is in front of a backdrop of the Battle of Hoth. The colorful explosion and the dreary smoke against the icy background help to make the AT-AT pop out at the collector, like a really fantastic book cover. The box art tells a story of sorts too and contains multiple characters from the first portion of The Empire Strikes Back. The combination of characters really creates an Expanded Universe take on Episode V (as in it never happened on screen), but it also makes your mind rewind back to the days when you were a kid growing up with the Original Trilogy and we created our own plot lines, battles and stories when playing with our Star Wars toys. This is something the post-classic Star Wars audience will never be able to experience, and they are memories that those born during the time when the OT was it will cherish forever. Lots of Star Wars characters help dress the box art. Tauntauns, FX-7, Han Solo, Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 are just some of the characters here. The reason to get this is for the box and the box only. The contents inside are identical to the Star Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] vehicle.
