Rorworr is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. He lives on Naboo with his father, a Wookiee diplomat stationed there, and attends Theed's Royal House of Learning. It was here that he met and befriended the other characters. Rorworr is both curious and brave. He enjoys scouting the Naboo wilderness and hopes to explore the galaxy one day. Rorworr and his friends have long dreamed of adventures. Now, with the Trade Federation threatening to invade the planet, perhaps it is time they became heroes. With his strength and scouting skills, Rorworr can surely help keep the planet safe.
As the Episode I wrapped, Hasbro began preparing for the launch of an all-new line look that would encompass the Star Wars universe under one banner. The line, Power Of The Jedi, instantly piqued the interest of collectors all over because this was a line that was geared for collectors first and kids second. There were also quite a few exclusive products that were released as well. Collectibles from vehicles to special multipacks became almost as important and relevant to the line as the basic action figures. And even some strange one-off products were release to accompany the Power Of The Jedi line as well. In late 2000, Wizards of the Coast released the Invasion Of Theed Adventure Game. Interestingly, they managed to get Hasbro to produce an exclusive action figure for the game: Rorworr (Wookiee Scout). It was a pretty nice figure, but it was really just a kit-bashed figure consisting of mostly reused parts. Because of its relative exclusivity, the Invasion Of Theed Adventure Game became a highly sought after item, for no other reason than the Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) figure inside of it.
Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) is actually very nice. The figure has been produced by utilizing the body of 1998’s POTF2 [FF/TKC] Chewbacca (Boushh’s Bounty) with an all-new head sculpt. Of course the figure has been completely repainted as well. The body of that 1998 POTF2 [FF/TKC] Chewbacca (Boushh’s Bounty) figure works beautifully with the all-new head sculpt. and the lighter color of the fur makes you totally forget that Chewbacca’s body was even used for this figure too. Sadly, the biggest reminder of Chewbacca here is the reused bowcaster. Hasbro should have not included that accessory here. Many reference shots show Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) wearing a green vest. We also wish that Hasbro would have included this detail as well. It would have helped reinforce Rorworr’s sophistication from living on Naboo for so long (in a multi-species group setting) as well as make him look completely differently than Chewbacca. The good news is that Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) looks nothing like Chewbacca as far as the head sculpt is concerned. And we’re quite impressed with how well it has turned out. Had we more information on other inhabitants of Kashyyyk, maybe this figure could have easily represented one of those other characters as well.
As far as the Invasion Of Theed Adventure Game, we don’t have much information on that. Most collectors who were interested in Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) bought the game in its entirety, removed the figure, and quickly packed away the game. Or as most other collectors did, they just bought the Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) figure by itself on eBay for exorbitant amounts of money. The figure comes packaged in some quasi form styled after the Power Of The Jedi line look. There is even a checklist of figures (from the Power Of The Jedi line) on the back of the card on which the figure is packaged. If you’re a “one-of-everything” collector then Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) is a must-have for your collection. But if you’re into the Expanded Universe or characters that are just not seen in the films, then likely this figure is an easy pass for you. We think Rorworr (Wookiee Scout)’s sculpt will hold up (at least the head sculpt) over time. It’s actually quite shocking how good it is. But Hasbro is already making better versions of figures with ball-jointed articulation, so it’s very possible that this figure will age very quickly as technology improves. But we still think Rorworr (Wookiee Scout) is worth tracking down. As he ages, his value will also go down too.
