We have no bones about admitting how impressed we are with the Titanium Series Helmets line. Hasbro’s Titanium Series line has a lot to be desired when it comes to the vehicles. While the classic old molds don’t look half bad, the new sculpts just don’t possess the same magic as the older ones. The Titanium Series Helmets have been cast in a hybrid titanium alloy, molded and painted to recreate some of the most popular helmets in the Star Wars universe, from the new Rogue One film to the Original Trilogy. Announced through the Hasbro Pulse, we were surprised that these were The Black Series [Phase III] items, but were more surprised Hasbro was trying something that other licensees once tried and failed at doing. We’re hoping for more success with Hasbro. Although the Titanium Series vehicles are already part of the mix, we believe that it will be the Helmets line that will ultimately be engaging collectors. It’s without any reservation that we state that the Titanium Series Helmets are far superior to anything Hasbro produced in the vehicles assortment.
We are unequivocally stating that the Titanium Series Helmets line is a line full of quality items. What’s more, because they’re created in one-sixth scale, we are sure that these will pique the interest of those collectors that are already collecting Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles 1:6 Scale Figures. These are comparable collectibles from a quality perspective, so we believe that there could be interest in what this line may provide to them. These aren’t shoddily painted cheap toys by Hasbro. These are extremely well painted and well done. Both the sculpting and the deco are beyond impressive. Add to this a more than reasonable price point of $14.99 (for two helmets), you really have something that should generate interest in the masses of Star Wars fans still hanging in with Hasbro until they get the line back to the way it was. In short, this is a very nice side line of collectibles. We’re very picky with how things look. The ratio of cost to quality here leaves the collector with the better deal. This is hard to argue.
The Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) helmet is based on its appearance from Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. We believe Hasbro made a few mistakes with the coloring and deco. The “inside” 1138 is missing from the helmet (a detail Sideshow Collectibles got right on their Princess Leia (As Boushh) 1:6 Scale Figure. However, the paint job is especially beautiful and we’re going to look the other way with its inconsistencies. The sculpt is really impressive and faithful to the prop in the film. The Boba Fett helmet is equally impressive. Based on the prop’s appearance from Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi too, and they did a brilliant job on both the sculpt and the paint operations. We really can’t complain about the final product. Boba Fett’s helmet comes with a swivel plastic rangefinder. We know that a metal rangefinder would have been at tremendous risk for bending and possible breakage, so we’re willing to let this detail slide by us. Each helmet comes with a nice clear plastic stand for easy display. You should definitely consider this line for your collection.
