Obi-Wan holds onto hope that he and Padmé can turn Anakin back from the dark side. But on Mustafar, he realizes that all is lost and Anakin has been consumed by evil. Obi-Wan is viciously attacked by Anakin and battles for his life in a climactic duel surrounded by molten lava rivers

The Saga Legends line repackaged a whole bunch of cool action figures. Hasbro wanted to get their best action figures out to the public again, and Saga Legends was the medium to do this. Collectors participated in the selection too, and it was truly an exciting time to be a collectors. This all occurred when the line went live back in 2007. Hasbro decided that some risk would be a part of this line as wel, as they released characters that really couldn't be described as "main" to anyone. But in 2008 and 2009, the Saga Legends line became cookie cutter, and Hasbro just started releasing the same old figures over and over again. It was painful to watch as a collector. We constantly advised they needed to change up things a little bit. but you could count on the same dozen to a dozen and a half SAME figures every year. Such is true with the wonderful Obi-Wan Kenobi figure. It's an almost perfect figure for us, but did we need to see it released so many times already? We would answer that question negatively.

What you may or may not be aware of is that this Saga Legends release was the opening figure in the 2008 phase of the 30 (77-07) line. Based on his appearance from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, this for us is the definitive version of Obi-Wan Kenobi from Episode III. No matter how many times he is released, no one is able to complain that he isn't a good figure to re-release. So while this action figure is looking tired because we see it so often, we do know it's probably the best choice they could pick for the Saga Legends lineup each year. Obi-Wan Kenobi sports and impressive 25 points of articulation. He can be posed in an infinite amount of ways and looks fantastic no matter which pose you decide to place him. His hands are open a little bit too wide for our tastes, but he is able to hold the included lightsaber fairly well. It does fall out of his hands rather easily. But at least he can be displayed with it. He comes with no other accessories. It would have been wonderful for Hasbro to include a soft-goods robe with this figure.

If you recall, Obi-Wan Kenobi utilizes most of the awesome 2005 ROTS Obi-Wan Kenobi (III 55) action figure. Hasbro improved the things that needed improving to a most satisfying degree and made the spectacular definitive version. And the figure hasn't overstayed its welcome yet. We can't foresee that happening any time soon either. You are already familiar with most of this figure's body already, but the detail that wowed collectors here was that Obi-Wan was updated with the much-requested ball-jointed legs in addition to giving the figure an all-new portrait. This is probably the best Episode III Obi-Wan Kenobi likeness yet. It makes sense why they haven't updated him further. In all honesty, we don't expect Hasbro to improve it by much more if at all. He has the perfect concerned look on his face and his hair has been parted in a very authentic fashion. The coloring on the figure from head to toe is spectacular and the action figure has a beautiful posture. As you can see, Obi-Wan Kenobi is absolutely a figure that deserves re-release after re-release. This action figure will consistently please collectors.
