You’re probably sick and tired of us praising the 5” Galaxy Of Adventures line by now. But we can’t help falling in love with all of the figures Hasbro produces for the line. We wouldn’t go so far as to say the line is perfect. It’s not. We generally loathe action features in our action figures, and so far, all of the figures are released in the 5” Galaxy Of Adventures line. But there is something special about this line that’s not grasping the hearts of most collectors. Yes, a new scale of action figures is a terrible idea. We also get that many collectors don’t prefer animated takes on popular Star Wars characters. But goodness, gracious. Look at this Boba Fett figure based on Return Of The Jedi. In all honesty, it’s one of the most excellent interpretations that Hasbro’s ever done for Boba Fett. And what a
gift it is to get a new take of the character based on Return Of The Jedi. Hasbro usually produces action figures of this character, mostly based on The Empire Strikes Back. Let’s take a closer look at Boba Fett.
Do you remember Gentle Giant Ltd.’s animated maquettes? Well, the Galaxy of Adventures line feels like action figure interpretations of those animated maquettes from years prior. The action figures have long and lean proportions yet aren’t too exaggerated. You can teel these figures are animated takes on the characters we see in the films, but they’re faithful representations. Hasbro did an excellent job of capturing every detail of the unique costume from Episode VI. From the light gray jumpsuit to the red gauntlets to the multicolored jetpack, all of this Mandalorian bounty hunter’s traits and characteristics from the Battle of Carkoon are here. The cape and the Wookiee scalps are a permanent part of the figure’s tooling, but Hasbro utilized a pliable plastic that gives these parts some “movement” even though they cannot be removed. Boba Fett looks stunning from head to toe, from the yellow knee armor and shoulder armor to the green chest armor.
Boba Fett comes with four accessories. These include a removable Z-6 Mitronomon jetpack and two interchangeable rockets, one standard, and then a rocket projectile. If you choose to use the projectile, it clicks into place, and then you press down on the “disguised” lever running vertically in the center of the jetpack, it launches the projectile. It’s an exciting play feature here, but our preference is to use the rocket (not the projectile version) because it’s more authentic in style and shape. Hasbro also included the sawed-off blaster rifle that the bounty hunter exclusively used in Return Of The Jedi. Hasbro hasn’t included this correct weapon in ROTJ Boba Fett action figures. Many collectors are delighted that they’ve produced a The Vintage Collection Return Of The Jedi Boba Fett figure (complete with the correct weapon)! The long story short of this is that Boba Fett is an EXCELLENT addition to the Galaxy Of Adventures line. It would be best if you bought it.
