Mountain Trooper - TBS [P3] - Six Inch Figures (Exclusive)

No matter your stance of the Disney Trilogy era of modern Star Wars, there are likely going to be some characters that pique your interest whether you liked the films or not. And by this, we mean interest you enough to want to purchase action figures based on these characters. Whether these characters appear somewhere within the films or in some “off-screen” supplemental sources like comics or theme parks, some of the new characters have merit in what is seemingly a crashing and burning franchise. For Galaxy’s Edge, Hasbro tooled new The Black Series 6” figures for exclusive multipacks. Now, they’re part of the Galaxy’ Edge Trading Outpost collection, which is currently exclusively available at TARGET stores across the USA. The Mountain Trooper is a cool-looking character from Disney Star Wars, and a character Hasbro produced for The Black Series 6” line. Originally part of the Smuggler’s Run multipack, the Mountain Trooper is now available singly in the Galaxy’s Edge Trading Post sub-line at TARGET.

These figures’ original exclusivity disenchanted collectors of the 6” line. Now, they’ve re-released many of the previously exclusive figures in the Galaxy’s Edge Trading Outpost collection. And we hope that all of the figures that were initially exclusive to Disney Parks will all one day be available through a channel that meets the needs of the broader 6” collecting community. The Mountain Trooper is a smartly added addition to the sub-line and is a beautiful figure designed with new parts worked into existing sculpts. The Mountain Trooper also received stunning repainting, and thanks to all of these enhancements, the figure feels new and refreshed. The Mountain Trooper has a strong Rogue One or Solo feel to it. It feels more like a character from the Original Trilogy timeline instead of the Sequel Trilogy timeline. The figure comes with all of the excellent functionality its original base figure has, and it makes a wonderful addition to The Black Series 6” line. We only wish these characters were better utilized in Star Wars Entertainment.

The Mountain Trooper doesn’t veer too far off from the standard Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader of Imperial Hovertank Pilot (it borrows many of their parts) possesses uniqueness thanks to the many new features, revised sculpting, and different color scheme. Mountain Trooper is a mostly-new kit-bashed figure that utilizes the upper legs and cod section of 2016’s TBS [P3] Imperial Hovertank Pilot Toys R Us exclusive figure (and that’s about it). Now, Hasbro added an all-new portrait, torso, arms, belt, and lower legs, virtually making the Mountain Trooper an all-new figure. And if they tweaked the lower legs, it would have been. We hope that this character finds a way into future films or Disney+ series. So far, all we know is that this character is from Galaxy’s Edge. Hopefully, the character will be better utilized in the future. The Mountain Trooper comes with a long blaster rifle that fits into the figure’s hands well. And thanks to fantastic articulation, the figure moves in a variety of ways. Hasbro gave the Mountain Trooper a gorgeous but simple paint job that includes dirt accumulation and battle-damage.
