Hasbro finished out the 2020 line with an excellent wave of Galaxy Of Adventures figures. Three of the figures are all-new, while Boba Fett is a carry-forward release. The other figures include Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano, and Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper. Together, the two The Clone Wars characters are some of Hasbro’s finest efforts. And now that they developed a Phase II Clone Trooper sculpt, we’re disappointed that we won’t be seeing any additional characters added to the Galaxy Of Adventures lineup. Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper is a special division of the 501st Legion. They’re distinct by their helmets, which feature an “image” of Ahsoka Tano in orange. There isn’t any detail in the orange color flashes, but there is enough of a pattern to make out the Togruta Jedi. Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper is an excellent action figure. From the fluid articulation to the relatively flawless paint operations, the quality here is unprecedented. And we’re thrilled with the results.
As we previously mentioned, the Galaxy Of Adventures Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper features a Phase II Clone Trooper body. The approach is quite similar to the one taken with The Black Series [Phase IV] Clone Trooper (Kamino) (TCW01) figure. The points of articulation are fluid and hold their positions well. And the joints look seamless on this figure. Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper is mostly white, but blue and orange flashes breathe life into the figure’s white canvas. Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper comes with one weapon, a DC-15 blaster. We’d like to see more accessories get added to all Hasbro figures, but the single weapon here feels exceptionally light. Thankfully, Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper possesses the ability to hold the gun with both hands or singly. Thanks to the figure’s excellent design, you can place the figure in multiple action poses while holding the DC-15 blaster as well. Unfortunately, there is an action figure worked into the figure, which impedes its aesthetics.
Hasbro added Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper to the line to complement the Ahsoka Tano figure, which is also part of the same assortment. When posed together, the figures look excellent. You can see an example of this in our Photo Gallery. As you know, Ahsoka Tano might be the best figure in the Galaxy Of Adventures line, and Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper helps to accentuate this fact. A single figure is never ideal. Figures always look better when they’re posed with related characters. We’re sad to see that the collecting community didn’t latch onto this line. We understand that a new scale of action figures is never a great idea, but Hasbro proved to us how much forethought went into this line. All of the figures exceeded our expectations. But as much as we love Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper in this line, we must see this character part of The Vintage Collection too. While we wait for that never to happen, we hope collectors will enjoy this figure and the many others Hasbro produced in a 5” scale.
