Wow. We get ANOTHER differently colored B1 Battle Droid for almost $30 with tax. Oh, what fun it is to be a collector of The Black Series collector. The Gaming Greats sub-line isn’t without merit. Hasbro is getting a multitude of fantastic characters out to the public through this medium. Still, their efforts feel desperate and uninspiring as they put as little effort into these figures as possible. Republic Commando is a popular video game, so producing the Battle Droid characters that cause problems for Delta Squad makes sense. And Hasbro released the characters from Delta Squad in the line as well. So now we have complementary players from the game. Thanks to the figure’s articulation, you can pose the Battle Droid in some pretty energetic action poses. It holds its poses well thanks to great anchoring in the sculpt and a sleek design. Some poses require a little more attention than others, but the Battle Droid can generally attain almost any position you need. The Battle Droid is also adequately accessorized. It comes with a removable backpack that snaps on firmly to the figure’s dorsal side. And it comes with articulated antennae, which is a lovely touch. You can remove the backpack as needed and store the droid blaster on its side. Precise articulation allows the Battle Droid to hold the blaster with one hand or two. These are all small gifts from Hasbro. They’ve done an excellent job of making this feature work well. Oh, and the final battle-damage paint operations accent the figure beautifully too.
