Ahsoka Tano pilots her starfighter on Republic missions during the Clone Wars. As Anakin Skywalker's young Padawan, Ahsoka is determined to prove herself worthy to become a Jedi. learning from Anakin's skillful piloting techniques, Ahsoka handles her starfighter with promising skill and succeeds in destroying droid fighters during one skirmish.
We honestly don’t think Hasbro has any inkling of just how powerful of a character Ahsoka Tano would play in the role of their toy line. And by that we mean that hasbro had no idea just how strongly she would resonate with kids and collectors. Exceeding expectations, the 2008 TCW Ahsoka Tano (No. 9) figure became the best-selling female Star Wars character of all time and Hasbro was trying to play catch-up for months trying to meet demands so that she could find a place in everyone’s collection that wanted her. (Demand didn’t seem to be met until the reissue came out in the 2009 “red” The Clone Wars line look.) Realizing that they had a powerhouse character on their hands, they looked for ways to bring additional “Ahsoka branding” to the line. Since she and Obi-Wan Kenobi shared the same designed Jedi starfighters, a light bulb went off at Hasbro and they immediately began work on her Jedi starfighter to add to the vehicle assortment line.
Simply stated, Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter is a repaint of 2008’s TCW Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Delta Starfighter vehicle. (Editor’s Note: Hasbro renamed Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Delta Starfighter “Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter in the 2009 and 2010 The Clone Wars lines and put new text on the box.) Everything that was brought to Obi-Wan’s vehicle was carried forward to Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter, but perhaps the final results are a little bit better for this release. The color palette on Ahsoka’s vehicle is much more engaging and Hasbro did a flawless job replicating all of the details bit by bit. From the Aurebesh letters outside of the cockpit to the multiple body designs throughout the vehicle’s body, Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter will absolutely become one of the hottest vehicles in The Clone Wars line Hasbro will ever produced. They have a lot of her vehicles to get out to match the sales of the basic figure.... and that is a lot!
Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter continues the theme in the Hasbro toy line that an all-new paint job can make the same vehicle look completely new. And to some extent that is very true here. The various symbols painted on the body give this vehicle texture and depth, something that is not as vibrant on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Delta Starfighter. And the maroon and gray color that makes up the deco on this vehicle work in complementary fashion while blending very nicely with each other as well. Now that we have Ahsoka Tano and Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi Starfighter, all we need now is R7-A7 and all will be well in the world. (Editor’s Note: Hasbro released R7-A7 (CW43) in the “Shadow Of The Dark Side” phase of The Clone Wars line.) Expect even more vehicles in The Clone Wars line to utilize this great transforming Jedi starfighter sculpt. There is a lot to love here and we can’t wait to see where Hasbro takes this vehicle.
