A crime lord employs many strategies to be sure that his underlings and competitors are acutely aware of his power. Through manipulation, domination, bribery, and deceit, Jabba the Hutt has established himself as the premier force on Tatooine. Few dare to defy Jabba, and those unlucky enough to have an audience with him very, very rarely risk the displeasure of the immense slug. Within his palace, Jabba is very, very comfortable, and very, very powerful.

Within Jabba's dark palace, creatures of all kinds lurk as his minions, including his brutish enforcers, the Gamorrean Guards. Posted in the dark corners and archways surrounding Jabba's throne, the guards are at the ready to step in at the Hutt's command.

Sideshow Collectibles have not hidden the fact that they will are getting more and more aggressive with their 1:6 Scale Figure Environments concepts. And they certainly are showing no mercy to collectors who are quickly losing space to display these magnificent works of art. But whether you have room or not, there is no denying that these pieces will make you drool to the point of frustration that a different license has decided not to make similar things a reality in the 3.75” scale. While these environments are relatively simple structures, they are conversely complicated in decoration. The final touches that the artists put on these pieces to give them a genuine “lived in” look. From the cracks in the mortar, to the brilliant lighting effects, Sideshow really does a lot to make these pieces seem that they were ripped right out of the films and into stunning one-sixth scale for your collection.

The Jabba’s Palace Environment: Archway piece stands almost 18 inches tall and has enough surface area on the floor to house either the Gamorrean Guard or Gartogg (Gamorrean Guard) 1:6 Scale Figures they've already produced for the line. And there is actually enough room for both to be placed on the base. Sideshow Collectibles has been very generous with the space. The actual archway sits on the back corner of the display base and forms a perfect 90 degree angle. On the wall with the curve of the top archway, there are two spots with electronics. A control box that looks very similar to the buttons used to lower Han Solo In Carbonite is also on the wall (and are part of the light-up feature). And above it is another spot for electronics that actually flickers when turned on. We are not entirely sure what that is all about but maybe it has been added to represent the Max Rebo Band light show flickering in the background. But whatever it is, it looks awesome.

This 1:6 Scale Figure Environment is very, very heavy. All the weight has been transferred into the base which we suppose is a good thing, but it is awkward to carry and handle. What makes this worse is that the archway portion where the corner of the walls meet doesn’t stay attached to the base tightly at all. When we pushed this environment at the base, the walls almost fell of the table. This is not great engineering on Sideshow’s part, but once you decide where you want to display this piece, it won’t have any problems staying in place. What will be a problem is you forgetting how it’s barely attached and move it somewhere down the road and have it go flying again. But this is trivial in the grand scheme of things. This 12 Inch Figure Environment is stunning and beautiful and there are many options for posing the multiple 1:6 Scale Figures we have sourced to Return Of The Jedi. Sideshow is really impressing us. But our space is running out!
