It's madness! And it's total inconsistency! The brand new The Clone Wars and The Vintage Collection figures are being found all over the country, but some stores have them out for sale while others are telling us they are being held until August! The August 6th street date is being scoffed at! Serves you right Hasbro for making this so utterly frustrating and confusing for everyone! Please don't ever do a street date again! (Not that we don't take issue with Toys R Us' tactics either!)

While Hasbro remains rather glib on the possibilities of Jaxxon and Jocastu Nu ever being made into action figures, they do leak the fact that four Original Trilogy and two Prequel Trilogy figures from the last Toy Fare Fans' Choice Poll will be making it into the line before the end of 2011, barring any uncontrollable forces. R2-B1 finally gets an upgrade after seven years from its first 2000 apperance in the Episode I line. But Hasbro goofed somewhere and it left the figure with a rather glaring error. Hasbro decided to bring an "almost decade old" figure into the 2009 basic figure line again and it sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to all the other Saga Legends figures. All these changes as the line is dying away? We were shocked to find a variation (albeit small) on the Legacy Collection Clone Commander Cody (BD44) figure. The latest remix cases (with HK-50 droid parts) that also contains the Stormtrooper and Gungan Warrior figures are being found with Commander Cody figure with a head sculpt cast in a different skin tone. Why they expended the energy and time to change this and not the belt is beyond our comprehension. It doesn't look nearly washed out as the first version did. We took pictures for comparison purposes and we hope you can see the change, but it is a much more drastic difference in person. We almost thought is was a different head sculpt at first and the "new" version has a much better color to it as well as a cleaner and crisper paint job. Click through to check it out!

While searching for more The Clone Wars figures at more Kmart stores, we discovered the figures are on sale for $5.99 each until June 19, 2010. JTA located the very hard to find The Clone Wars figures including Darth Sidious, Thi-Sen and Commander TX-20 and two different Kmart stores (in Philadelphia) this evening (and it was the first time we EVER saw them in the wild). This is pretty sad for figures that saw release originally in February supposedly (but we doubt they ever hit the Philly areas because we find everything). With the vanishing TARGET figures and Walmart's clearance of $4.50 per figure, it looks like there is still some hope to find the figures that never saw widespread distribution at Kmart and Toys R Us.

For those of you who haven't visited your local TARGET lately, this is what you'll find on the shelves. We even asked for assistance and the associates got their LRT guns and said not nary a figure is anywhere in the building. Darn, we wished we picked up a few more army-builders for $4.99 each! We couldn't help but shake our heads when we saw this Saga Legends Blockbuster Value two-pack hanging on the shelves today in Walmart. Only further proving that something just isn't right in "distribution land" at Hasbro, we found the extremely rare error-packed Chewbacca (Sandstorm) backed with an Episode II Clone Trooper. And this is approaching almost a year now since this error was "quickly corrected". Click through for the proof!

There are a lot of changes happening at retail. We stopped at our local Toys R Us in the Philly area and noticed that the Star Wars aisle had been totally reset (and also taking up more room than ever). Oh boy are we getting excited. It looks like there will be ample space for all the new product coming in late July/early August!

Our friends at GentleGiantCollectors.com have a first look at a new upcoming exclusive mini bust. Remember that 2006 TARGET exclusive Mace Windu's Attack Battlion Battle Packs set? The Airborne Trooper from that five-pack is being immortalized in mini bust form (or something that looks pretty darn close to it at least)!

Avid JTA reader and friend Fernando Salinas writes in with a variation that snuck by us altogether. The Concept Art Snowtrooper can be found with with an "opposite" colored triangle on the helmet. If you look at Fernando's sample (the first image) the blue triangle with the smaller red triangle (or detail) inset while the sample in our Visual Guide is completely the other way (and accurate to the concept art. We looked for others and found one other that had the "error" blue triangle but we aren't sure how widespread the error is. Let us know what your samples look like! In the meantime, click through for the comparison shots.

This post serves as confirmation to Yakface.com's report that TRU basic figures are back up to $7.49 from the $4.99 sale that was supposed to run through July 7, 2010. JTA spoke with district management and they explained that the $4.99 sale price was an error and was not meant to apply to the Expanded Universe wave endcap promotion of figures, so they pulled it. (A little late on damage control we say.) But if you saved the ad and bring it in to your local store, they did explain to us that they would honor the $4.99 price. And supposedly the same or similar is true for the Transformers line as well.
