Review: Covert Ops Clone Trooper - ROTS - Exclusive

Posted by Paul | July 30, 2012 at 12:15 AM ET |

Most of us typically prefer to get clones that actually appeared in the films, but if Hasbro continued to make action figures of clones from their own brilliant concepts like the Covert Ops Clone Trooper we'd take all that they gave us. This figure hasn't aged at all and still should see rerelease again and again. If you're not familiar with this figure, read up on it in our Research Droids Reviews and see why you need to get it into your collection as soon as possible! Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! eBay Ensures Every Ewok!

Posted by Paul | July 29, 2012 at 09:51 PM ET |

Ewoks have become a hot commodity, love them or hate them. We unabashedly love them so deal with this post if you hate them. To our own shock, we've noticed that many pre-TVC Ewoks go for a pretty penny on the aftermarket. With nine (9) new Ewoks coming before the end of 2012 alone, there is going to be a focus with collectors trying to complete their respective Ewok armies! JTA moderator Sjefke alerted us to an eBay seller that have quite a few of the "rarer" and "more expensive" Ewoks for sale loose in his auctions. Click through to see what he's offering and see if you can complete your collection and see if you can beat the rush! This seller has some very reasonable prices!

Review: Clone Trooper - ROTS - TARGET Exclusive

Posted by Paul | July 29, 2012 at 12:02 AM ET |

Not all of the TARGET exclusive Revenge Of The Sith action figures were bad. Things started getting really good with the Clone Trooper, an excellent figure that wasn't seen in Episode III, but based on the 91st Reconnaissance Corps. Check it out in our Research Droids Reviews today and see why you need this one, especially if you're a fan of concept art! Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Gentle Giant LTD Exclusives Up For Pre-order!

Posted by Paul | July 28, 2012 at 09:40 AM ET |

Gentle Giant Ltd. is taking pre-orders for their PGM Holiday Gift Jar Jar Binks and W Wald Mini Busts. They are also taking pre-orders for the CVI exclusive Lando Calrissian Jumbo Vintage Kenner figure. We totally missed this, but even though Jar Jar Binks comes with a Santa hat and lights, they are completely removable so you can display Jar Jar throughout the rest of the year. GG is not too keen on rereleasing their exclusives as general releases, so this may be the only way to get this piece. Of course, anything can change! Click either image below to place your order!

It's something we refer to around here with the initials MZ! Click through to see what may be getting marked down soon at your local store. Some Important Action Figures Are Available On eBay Loose!

Posted by Paul | July 27, 2012 at 06:41 AM ET |

More than a few older highly sought after figures as well as all-new figures have hit eBay through seller Hobbystock. They have the rare K'Kruhk for under $10, the no-longer-available Nahdar Vebb for under $7, the super rare silver R2-D2 (based on the VOTC mold - a foreign exclusive) for pennies on the dollar, the "new" armored Savage Opress as well as many recent TVC and TCW figures that just haven't had widespread distribution. Click through to any auction by the thumbnails below and then check out what else they have to offer. There were quite a few surprises, like the light-up figures and many, many more.... all for reasonable prices!

Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi - ROTS - III 1

Posted by Paul | July 27, 2012 at 12:20 AM ET |

The opening wave of the Revenge Of The Sith line was geared for the kids. As a result, figures like Obi-Wan Kenobi were less than impressive due to the inclusion of action features. Thank the Maker that Hasbro has more than made up for it years after the fact. See our commentary of him in our Research Droids Reviews today. John Williams Interview On NBC Tonight!

Posted by Paul | July 26, 2012 at 07:05 PM ET |

Besides writing the incredible scores to the Star Wars films and the Indiana Jones films, John Williams also wrote the Olympics theme as well as scores to countless other films. He is being featured in an interview tonight on Rock Center with Brian Williams at 10 PM (EDT) on NBC. If you have some time, be sure to check out this interview, but if not, you shouldn't definitely DVR it! It goes wothout saying he is one of the greatest and most prolific composers of our time and the Star Wars films wouldn't be the same without his touch.

Review: Darth Vader (Duel At Mustafar) - ROTS - TARGET Exclusive

Posted by Paul | July 26, 2012 at 12:10 AM ET |

Darth Vader (Duel At Mustafar)

JTA friend Darth Eddie has just pointed out something to us that we all seemed to miss. If you look at the image that our friends at Sandtroopers.com brought us, notice that the Naboo Pilot comes with both helmets (one from the Discover The Force Naboo Pilot and one from the Discover The Force Ric Olié). This officially makes the TVC Naboo Pilot a true variation and not a straight repack! Interesting, huh?!

Review: Anakin Skywalker - ROTS - III 2 (X3)

Posted by Paul | July 25, 2012 at 12:05 AM ET |

Here is the very first Episode III inspired Anakin Skywalker figure. And it stinks. OK, that's a bit harsh, but we don't like it pretty much at all. But what adds insult to injury is that there are three distinct variations of this figure.... and it's all because of the included accessories. If you're a one of everything collector, you need to buy him three times! Want to know more? Judge it for yourself in our Research Droids Reviews today. OK, so you must have heard the latest rumor. Supposedly wave 16 (the final wave) of The Vintage Collection will be relegated to an online exclusive. (Personally this makes no difference to me. I have seen about 2 new figures out of the dozens that were released this year in Philly and HAD to shop online for stuff.) But what are your feelings on this? We have friends investigating this and we'll post an update here once we know more, but please weigh in on your thoughts by clicking through and posting in our comments module. Review: General Grievous - ROTS - III 9

Posted by Paul | July 24, 2012 at 12:10 AM ET |

The General Grievous (with four lightsaber attack) is another action feature ridden action figure that is actually borderline enjoyable. Hasbro has reused it countless times and it seems that it deserves the attention it gets. Voice your own opinion in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Darth Vader - ROTS - III 11

Posted by Paul | July 23, 2012 at 01:35 AM ET |

You are all well aware of our disdain for figures that have action features, but one figure that does contain them still holds up well. Darth Vader from the Revenge Of The Sith line is still a great action figure. But will you agree? There has been a great deal of discussion about these TARGET Special Action Figure Sets! We're getting closer and closer to Hasbro completing those classic vintage three-packs from long ago. And one of the ones they haven't done yet is the one with Greedo, Walrusman and Hammerhead. Imagine this set revisited in the modern line with an all-new Momaw Nadon super-articulated sculpt?! As you dream about this divine three-pack, why don't you catch up on the eleven (11) sets we do have (8 single packs and one multipack of 3) and see how far we've come! Click any image below for complete photo gallery and commentary on each!

That's Why We Call It Independence Day!

Posted by Paul | July 04, 2012 at 12:03 AM ET |

Jedi Temple Archives wishes you and your family a very happy and healthy 4th of July. Enjoy this time off to bask in the gift of freedom we've been granted by the selfless people who have fought on our behalf to bring us this truly wonderful gift. And please spend some time reflecting on what is truly important in your lives. We moan and whine about not finding Star Wars figures, but it's all insignificant next to the power of freedom we all possess. And thank you for your continued support of our site. May the Force be with you!

Review: Shae Vizla (Old Republic Bounty Hunter) - TVC - VC101

Posted by Paul | July 03, 2012 at 12:10 AM ET |

Hasbro has released more great Expanded Universe figures in The Vintage Collection. A rather obscure female character, Shae Vizla (Old Republic Bounty Hunter) (VC101), gets premium treatment and will become one of the most sought after figures in the entire line. We're predicting that. See this gorgeous beauty in our Research Droids Reviews right now! Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! The Vintage Collection Wave 14 Making Headway Throughout The USA

Posted by Paul | July 02, 2012 at 09:52 PM ET |

Reports are coming in from all over that the Tarkin wave of The Vintage Collection is hitting Walmart. JediDefender.com first reported sightings of this wave in IA and PA earlier today, and now we have reports from CA and WI. Also of note, but unfortunately no visual proof, we have one report that the Tarkin wave has also been found at Toys R Us in CA. Start up those toy runs again folks! (Special thanks to JTA reader Ross A. for the picture below.)

JTA reader Joshua M. alerts us to a phenomenal find on eBay. We could be wrong, but we believe this is the first time we have seen the Princess Leia (Bespin Gown) figure on a TVC card back! What's perhaps most noteworthy is that Hasbro managed to ensure that the ornate pattern on the back of her soft-goods dress has been added. Look at that glorious card back! Click through to check it out!
