He's a big blue clone trooper/senate guard captain! Today's Research Droids Reviews takes a good look at one of the bluest figures we have seen in a long time. After Echo's first battle with commando droids, Captain Rex marks the trooper's armor with the blood of a vicious creature that had attacked them; the bloody hand print is Rex's way of recognizing Echo's transition from a "shiny" to a seasoned warrior! Too bad all warriors in Hasbro's Universe are shiny, even Captain Rex! Click below for the Enhanced Visual Guide!

Still having difficulty finding the new WAL*MART exclusive Droid Factory sets? We have seen them make a small return appearance (and then instantly disappear) in a few stores around our area. So it looks like we may get a [brief] second opportunity to purchase them. Certainly a hot seller, it will be the only way (ever - per Hasbro) to get the coveted Dark Trooper Phase III Build A Droid figure. It looks like Hasbro was correct that this round was indeed produced in lower quantities. And be sure to check out the General Grievous/CB-3D, Anakin Skywalker/Cortosis Battle Droid, Boba Fett/BL-17, Darth Maul/I-5YQ, and Corran Horn/R2 Whistler reviews in our Research Droids Reviews archive.

You are all well aware that the "Greatest Hits" figures have been absorbed as basic figures into the main line. But you may just want to pay closer attention to the figures and NOT overlook them. It appears that the Boba Fett figure will be new after all based on his appearance from The Empire Strikes Back. The former Evolutions figure gets a makeover! He has been painted so dramatically we thought he was the Return of The Jedi version at first! And with the recent news of a cleaner looking Commander Bacara and the slight deco change on the already released Biker Scout, it looks like we are going to get more than we bargained for in the basic line. Another line of two-packs entitled "Under The Helmet" have started arriving as an exclusive at WAL*MART locations. While they look very similar to the first set of two-packs, the packaging is altogether different. What is Hasbro doing? Argh! They are pretty cool nonetheless. One pack includes Captain Rex (yes - he's painted uniquely with a new intentional blue stain on his wrist) and Clone Trooper Fives (new) while the other pack includes a newly paint ops application on Clone Commander Cody and what looks to be a straight repack of Clone Trooper Echo.

Found earlier today at the Cinnaminson, NJ TARGET was the error Saga Legends Chewbacca figure. For those of you who may not be aware, very few production samples/case assortments were packed with the BD 3 Chewbacca (Sandstorm) figure instead of the correct VOTC Chewbacca. This is definitely more than a photo shoot mistake (as evidenced by our purchase) so we recommend checking out your retail stores if you are definitely wanting this figure in your collections. These errors are very likely to be a lot rarer than we think. For those who are curious, there were no signs of the error Han Solo (Bespin) figure without his jacket. Click through to check out the proof.

We were surprised to witness a TARGET employee open a "brand new" case of wave 6 of TLC (The Empire Strikes Back wave) in front of us this morning and pull out a "no skirt" Hoth Rebel Trooper. These may still be shipping out there folks, so keep your eyes peeled if you're looking to add this figure to your collection. Click thumbnail below to check out this hard to find figure!

Stop the press! We are getting reports that the WAL*MART exclusive Evolutions sets are ringing up at the register now for $14.96. While we have yet to confirm what actually transpires at the register (i.e. customers saying they are $14.96 to the cashiers), we do have proof of the sets being snagged for $14.96. (Please see receipt below.) Those of you who have been fortunate enough to find these for this price (or lower), count yourselves "lucky". We expect WAL*MART to discover the error soon enough. You can also check out our first impressions report here in case you have missed our original post.

Suspense! Suspense!
We still are hoping that the FACTS guest list will be extended with a Star Wars guest, but it's certainly worth already passing by to meet and greet with the current guest line-up: there are demi-Gods, Supernaturals, shiny Barbarians and at least one Goddess to charm. Boy, will we look puny in the pictures this year!
If you'd like to know what this is all about; hit the FACTS button to learn more ...

A penny wise and a pound foolish seems to best describe Habro's release of the product in today's entry of Research Droids Reviews mainly because of what value we get for our dollar. As promised from our earlier report, please enjoy quick snapshots of the brand new WAL*MART exclusive Evolutions sets from the Legacy Collection (MSRP $24.96). There are quite a few surprises inside including a super-articulated Republic Commando, an awesomely revisited Shadow Scout, and the variant TIE Fighter Pilot as first seen in collectible form as a mini bust by Gentle Giant, Ltd. Click through to see all the cool photos! It is really quite a shame that these are going into retirement. These are such great sets!
