JTA reader H. Costanza lets us know he found the the Black Series wave 9 (Sabine wave) at his local ThinkGeek brick-and-morter store is Hurst, TX. (Looks like he missed Darth Revan by just a few minutes.) Do you have a ThinkGeek store near you? Find out by clicking this link!

Back in January 2014 (and then MANY updated reports after that), Jedi Temple Archives had the privilege to reveal to the Star Wars collecting community that we would see a return of The Vintage Collection (from a certain point of view). Our sources back then informed us that a few select characters from The Vintage Collection line would be re-released (in new TBS packaging), including the highly sought after Republic Trooper (the planned-yet-cancelled case assortment can be seen HERE). Ultimately, that figure never saw release at retail anywhere despite production samples showing up online. Well, now to our complete shock, the figure has finally been released. You know that Italian subscription thingy for The Black Series figures? They've just added the Republic Trooper #31 into the mix. Here is the first commercially available release of this figure! We may never understand why Hasbro cancelled this from The Black Series [Phase I] lineup but now you have a chance to secure one. Special thanks to JTA reader Andrea for this awesome news. If you're a completist, this one may be hard to track down!

If you like anthropomorphic vehicles, Tsum Tsum AND Star Wars, then you are in luck! Tomica has announced a new line of Star Wars Tsum Tsum cars in the LINE collection. (The reason there are tiny versions of some of the cars on top of some of the larger cars is a tie-in with the Disney Tsum Tum line.) The regular Tomica cars cover everything from Godzilla to Pixar. At my local Target I found the Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader and Director Krennic 6” Black Series figures, (They had C3PO, but I’m passing on that one.) Also, Target was running a special for 20% off all toys (excluding some games and Legos). I ended up saving $4 per figure. Look for signage at your local Target and text the code for a scannable coupon on your phone.

eBay seller tunghori has a pretty difficult figure in stock for a pretty great price. In 2013, Hasbro released a DREADFUL version of the 41st Elite Corps Clone Trooper in The Black Series [Phase I] 3.75" line. It was missing a ton of its color flashes/deco. It was one of their worst figures of all time. They actually released a revised version of it later on in 2014 much to collectors' surprise, but it was NEVER made available in the USA. It only shipped for a short time in a remix case in Europe. Anyhow, we say all that to let you know that tunghori has this revised version IN STOCK. The deco is still not 100% screen accurate, but it's a far cry from the first version which just had a couple of gray Charlie Brown zigzags on it.

Wave 2 of the Rogue One line has made its way to Knowxville TN. JTA reader jedialex17 sends us the confirmation!

Ah! We missed an anniversary in the Star Wars universe. Yesterday was the 38th anniversary of The Star Wars Holiday Special which premiered on November 17, 1978. It was pretty bad, but it was also like a train wreck where you couldn't look away from it. Also, it introduced us all to the coolest bounty hunter of all time: Boba Fett. Thanks to all who were involved in making this pretty stinky cheese! We adore it.

We know TARGET is getting older stock, but is Walmart also getting old product too? We have a report of some orange packaged stuff, and not the blue phase of The Black Series has just been found as well. What is going on here? This report is from James S., and we're trying to find out his location.

File this under: You'll never know what you find years after the fact. JTA reader joshxdestroy stopped by a Walmart in South Carolina and found these items in the clearance racks. The associate told him that they just found these in the back stockroom.

And speaking of horrid distribution, JTA reader Logan also found The Force Awakens Han Solo/Rey (Resistance Outfit) Build A Weapon figures at the same TARGET as the Jakks Pacific figures. This trend has been happening at my local store too. Why are The Force Awakens figures still coming?

We have no idea if this is old or new because distribution is so horrid generally speaking, but JTA reader Logan has found two of the latest Jakks Pacific 18" figures including Scarif Stormtrooper and Imperial Hovertank Pilot at his local TARGET.

JTA would like to congratulate our friends at Rebelscum.com for 20 years of dedicated service to the Star Wars collecting community. They are one of the longest running Star Wars fan sites of all time. It was this month in 1996 they began this exciting journey and have become a household name to Star Wars collectors everywhere. Here is to another 20 more!

It goes without saying that if The Vintage Collection doesn’t make its deserved return by May 2017 that Hasbro has totally lost touch with the adult and longtime collecting community. This is the ONLY time to bring it back. The Force Awakens isn't the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. The new Expanded Universe is not the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. It's all about the Original Trilogy (the point from which anything starts is what defines an anniversary) and this is our only moment in time to embrace and celebrate it! Newbie collectors won’t care so much as they can’t see too much beyond the 6” line (which is fine). So, we decided to join their company in order to make some suggestions for Hasbro's The Black Series 6” line. This hopefully will placate everyone. Granted, if this isn’t your scale, you’re not going to care too much about this post (probably). But we think some suggestions from longtime collectors might help Hasbro to engage a fledgling community of collectors that they're losing exponentially. Here is what we want to see from The Black Series 6" line for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. Click through for more!

$14.92 is a GREAT price collectors but it's an even better mark-up for scalpers. We haven't seen Walmart pimp a figure this hard in our careers here as much as they have for the Scarif Stormtrooper. JTA reader Bryan L. has found the Toys R Us exclusive Cassian Andor/Stormtrooper Two-Packs set at his local store in Inland Empire, CA. There's another exclusive to track down now!

JTA reader Brian C. from Facebook sends us a comparison image showing two differently sized ERG helmets. Please note the packaging differences. One helmet is squished while the other has been given a longer tray in which to sit. There has been discussions around the web that this figure has a variation, but aside from the shape of the plastic bubble, these are identical. If you need a differently shaped bubble of clear plastic in order to sleep at night, you have a bigger problem than collecting Star Wars figures. But that's just my own two cents. It's like living in the POTF2 era all over again!

Next up on our look back at Star Wars: The Clone Wars is “Clone Cadets.” Despite originally airing as the season three premiere, this is the third episode chronologically (as outlined by starwars.com). Store reports galore! The newest wave of the Black Series 6” figures have been found at a Target in Columbia SC by reader joshxdestroy. Walmart in East Brunswick NJ had “a ton” of the newest cases of the exclusive Black Series 3.75” figures according to reader Colin. Last but not least, Corey M. reports that the Target exclusive Black Series 6” 3-pack is on sale for $54.99. A big thanks to all for sending in those reports!

3.75 BS and Wave 2 6 inch RO hit Long Island this morning. Interesting note with 6inch. I found them at Target and they are ringing up with the old DCPI 087-06-3953 instead of the new 087-06-8009.

Our friends at Yakface.com have alerted us to an oversight we made while determining the status of the Walgreens exclusive C-3PO figure. The point of the matter is that C-3PO actually has a revised abdomen. We thank them profusely for their superior observations and knowledge.

There were comments made about the K-2SO shampoo bottle looking too small when compared against the other figures in the multipack. Well, as clear as day, Hasbro has placed directions on how to make him tall: he comes with unattached legs that need to be assembled once removed from the packaging (just like the Chewbacca shampoo bottle from last year).

We have received additional store reports for the Jyn Erso/Imperial Death Trooper of Walmart exclusive 3.75" figures. We now have reports from California and Washington state. They've yet to hit the Philly area, but then again I haven't seen anything since Han Trench Coat. (UPDATE: Pal Mike L. from GA has also found them!)

Those of you who were able to place an order online for the Walmart exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75" figures, they've begun arriving to doorsteps and/or Site to Store. Thanks to all those who wrote in with the update.

Season three of Star Wars Rebels is beginning to gain some momentum, but I'm still curious about the show's longevity moving forward. The sleuths over at Wookieepedia have determined that the current season of Star Wars Rebels is in the second year before the Battle of Yavin. That means we only have one more season before Rebels runs into the OT timeline and Rogue One. Personally, I don't think Rebels will continue into the OT timeline and will get a fourth and final season.  The move to have Filoni oversee future animation projects makes me think that they're already prepping the next animated series and are winding down Rebels. What do you think? Will Rebels run into the OT timeline? How many seasons will Rebels have when all is said and done? What is the end game for Star Wars Rebels? As a longtime collector (and design contributor) to non-sports trading cards, I was reluctant to embrace Topps’ new Star Wars Car Trader app. I’ve been collecting Star Wars trading cards my whole life, and I couldn’t imagine not being able to hold the physical cards in my hand.
