OK, the price tag on this auction is laughable, but the collection of pictures this seller has assembled is worth at least checking out the auction! The time it must have taken to assemble this set of 2600+ items!

The Brian’s Toys newsletter this week features a great selection of new Sideshow pre-orders. The C-3PO and R2-D2 droid duo are together again in the long waited premium format and the sixth scale Bossk figure is a brand new announcement today! Also new is the Medicom VCD Jawa, which looks more realistic to the movie version than the regular caricatured VCD versions.
A new Darth Vader (Reveal to Anakin Skywalker) bust from Illusive Concepts was recently delivered to us. This is one of the few busts we’ve seen in such great condition, but it still has paint wear to Anakin’s head and does not include the original COA. Overall, nothing is broken and displays nicely (albeit kind of scary, as evident to some Brian’s Toys employees being startled as they turned the corner).
Finally, new Masters of the Universe Classics figures (Horde Prime, Snake Man-At-Arms, and Griffin) have arrived along with the Sideshow 12" Tedn & Nalan. Check it all out over at Brians Toys.

Besides July 4, 2012 marking a very important national holiday in the USA, it also just happens to be the day of our 1,138th Research Droids Review. What a coincidence that Sideshow Collectibles has just shipped out their CC-1138, Commander Bacara 1:6 scale figure just in time so we can celebrate this landmark in style! You can check out a cool sneak peek of this simply brilliant figure on our Facebook page right now, but be sure to come back on July 4th to see this awesome figure in its full glory!

It seems that the current Star Wars toy line has officially become an epic failure, at least in one local Walmart of JTA reader Paul H. from MA. We reported a while ago to you that many products in The Phantom Menace 3D line have been deleted, and whether or not you reaped any benefits of that depended upon how willing your local Walmart was to use their markdown dollars. But Paul provides proof that a few other things are happening as well. If you are seeing any clearance like this at all, it's a good bet you'll never see the second wave of vehicles inlcuding the Naboo Fighter at your local store. Sad. So very sad. Click through for Paul's report.

Episode 32: Tonight we try to stay positive as we discuss the dismal state of collecting right now and the distribution issues that seem to be the root of it all. Is collecting a dying hobby? Find out as we delve into it with former guests LE and Wraithnine as well as newcomer, and admin of Jedi Temple Archives, Paul Harrison. We want to say thanks to them all for coming on and offering their opinions, theories and conspiracies.

This week's Brian's Toys newsletter features a variety of rare Star Wars collectibles. The highlight of the week is three LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets that include the Imperial Star Destroyer #10030, X-Wing Fighter #7191, and the TIE Interceptor #7181. The ultimate series are larger and more detailed than the traditional LEGO sets, which makes them a highly sought-after collector item.
A complete Hamilton Star Wars plate collection has also arrived, which features the complete set of plates released by Hamilton from 1977 to 2004. For the Family Guy and Star Wars collectors, there is a set of 3 production drawings from the Blue Harvest special. The pencil drawings are accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Last week's featured item was the Vintage Vinyl Cape Jawa graded 85 overall, but it is the highlight to Brian's Toys NEW YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/BriansToys/videos). In the video, hosted by Brian, the Vinyl Cape Jawa is seen in High Definition and is given a breakdown of the beauty of the figure as well as some of it's flaws which justify the grade. Here is the other 50%! Did you know that Hasbro blamed the performance of The Max Rebo Band (Jabba's Palace Musicians) set as 50% of the reason why they won't update the characters in this musical group? We have been a little bit down in the dumps lately about the state of collecting, but can you blame us? This is representative of nearly all 7 Walmarts, 5 TARGETs, 6 Kmarts and 5 TRUs in the Philly area. Just a few are overloaded on Movie Heroes wave 1. If there is all of this space available for TVC, why isn't it falling off of the pegs? Even stores that have an overabundance of The Phantom Menace wave have room for more TVC. I am going to go cry in a fetal position now. Be back in a bit.

The overall tone today is extremely dreary, but more bad news is coming right now. Entertainment Earth has just cancelled pre-orders for the Mandalorian Assault Transport. But there are still a few "reasonably priced" ones left on eBay. Click HERE to see if you can score one!
UPDATE: Well, news has spread fast. The only ones left on eBay now are very expensive. Best of luck to you all as new auctions make their way to eBay for this product.

Vintage-Style Wave 13 (the set has Starkiller, Shae Vizla, Oddball, General Tarkin, and Nikto) has landed at Brian's Toys. The case came packed with Darth Malgus, so there may be a few of him in stock as well.
A Darth Vader Legend Edition Helmet from eFX has also been acquired. This Helmet is limited to 250, and differs from it's Limited Edition counterpart because it retains the dings and scrapes from the original movie helmet prop. The Limited Edition has those defects removed. This piece was made to be rare and is currently home to about 249 collectors.
Brian's Toys has also been receiving large shipments of older discontinued Star Wars toys from action figures to vehicles to even Master Replicas! Visit the site and check out as many sections as you can, because it seems like every action figure imaginable has been restocked! All of us have been increasingly deflated over the horrible attention given to The Vintage Collection this year by retail and Hasbro. We're at a loss at who we should be pointing our fingers at anymore to be honest. The greatest packaging and collection of all time is being so incredibly mistreated, it's become egregious at this point. We have called you to action, our readers who post comments have echoed our sentiments exactly, and now JTA reader William W. has taken it upon himself to reach out to contact Hasbro directly. The answers he receives are baffling. We don't claim to know what the answers are anymore, but we do know that squeaky wheels get the grease. (That's how the Gamorrean Guard and Wedge Antilles figures got reshipped.) But I personally find it completely backwards and infuriating that I have purchased the last 15 or so latest TVC figures from the UK with free shipping. Um, Hasbro, do you NOT see a problem with this? Click through to read all about William's experience. He even received a letter from Hasbro on their letterhead. Check it out.

Hasbro just wasn't entirely prepared for The Clone Wars toy line, so they "padded" the line with a few pieces of "related" Clone Wars merchandise, like Anakin Skywalker's Modified Jedi Starfighter, originally from Tartakovsky's Clone Wars micro-series. See the Azure Angel in full detail in our Research Droids Reviews and let us know how well you think the vehicle fits into the line. And has it aged well? Vintage collectors know all about the infamous double telescoping, or DT, versions of Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi and Darth Vader. While Luke is the most common of the three, Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi can be found on eBay from time to time as well. We've found a few interesting auctions if you are curious about these super-rare variations. Currently, there is a nice loose Darth Vader available, as well as quite a few Luke Skywalkers (both AFA and non-AFA). You can also marvel at the crazy price-tag a carded DT Luke Skywalker commands. And, if you are interested in filling these holes in your collection you can find some very nice reproduction sabers too. We don't normally condone reproduction accessories, but in the case of the highly expensive DT sabers, we make an exception. Check out all the auctions below, and click here for a search of all things DT! As usual, buyer beware if there is not a COA with high-priced items like these!

The 2006-2008 spanning 30 (77-07) line makes us feel homesick, if that's possible. You see, it was an era we loved living in and Hasbro really showed us the stuff they were made of with brilliant multipacks, an exciting (and available) basic figure line, and many other special "Star Wars" things. In today's Research Droids Reviews we look at one fine example of Hasbro's clever ingenuity as we talk about the Walmart exclusive Treachery On Saleucami Battle Packs set. See why it has remained relatively ageless even today. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. OK, before your blood pressure goes through the roof, please just relax and breathe. This isn't a huge breaking news story. It's not even really a big deal. But the "reissued" Gamorrean Guard from the 2012 assortments is technically "different" from the 2010 version. The ONLY difference we see is on its head sculpt. On the 2012 version, the portrait has an obvious sheen (almost a gloss) to it. The 2010 version does not and instead appears flat or matte. We think this tiny revision makes the pig guard look better. Their skin did appear a little slimy on screen, especially with all of that slobber! Our cameras can't really pick up the differences that well, but you can still see them a little bit nonetheless. It's more obvious looking at them with your own eyes in person. So, that being said, if you're still interested, please click through to see the comparison!

It seems that there will be a lifelong dramatic relationship between collectors and Wedge Antilles. Right now, the reissue appears to be harder to find than the original figure. And if you can find it, there is no guarantee how it is going to arrive. Scott from Tulsa gives us a story you'll want to hear. (It's unreal the lack of respect this figure has received. Going forward Hasbro, just release figures as they are planned originally instead of pulling them out of the line last minute to tweak. The Wedge pack-in figure from the TARGET exclusive X-wing was fine. And we all would have had him in our collections 2 years ago. Click through for this story!

Has anyone else noticed the Galactic Battle Game beige stands coming in the new Star Wars stuff like the latest wave of The Clone Wars figures, or the new Battle Packs are now a different color? They've gone from a flat beige solid to a shiny, glimmery and marbled metallic look. The attached picture isn't the greatest, but we just wanted you to be aware that the stand are now looking differently all of a sudden. Special thanks to JTA reader Bailey for providing us with this quick snapshot.
