Clone troopers operate BARC speeders to increase their mobility. Using this one-man speeder, a clone trooper can cover more ground with greater speed and firepower than a trooper on foot. The speeder can be loaded with far greater firepower than a standard trooper can carry, allowing heavy ordnance to be deployed quickly to nearly any point on the battlefield.

Another excellent choice has been determined for The Legacy Collection Saga Legends line. 2008 is all about The Clone Wars television show, so the purpose of the realistic lines was to act in support of the multimedia event. And that’s what Hasbro did. They picked realistic “TCW-like” action figures to help pad the line and help propagate “clone fury”. It seems they’ve achieved their goal. And they pulled clones from all over their lengthy action figure history. Hasbro possesses evident signs of pride with their 2007 and 2008 Order 66 two-packs. And we have to concede that we agree with them quite a bit. Although the 2007 sets were good, most collectors found that Series 2 delivered much better quality figures overall. We wholly agree with that sentiment. Some high quality clones were developed for the 2008 TAC Order 66 (Series 2) line and they remain some of our most favorite efforts by Hasbro. BARC Trooper originally came packaged with Tsui Choi and their partnering in the package was based on events that took place in Star Wars: Purge. You can clearly see both characters in the comics. Now BARC Trooper gets a basic figure single carded release for both kids and collectors to purchase to help grow that already large clone trooper army in our collections.

BARC Trooper is a kit-bashed figure that utilizes the slightly retooled body of 2005’s ROTS Clone Trooper (III 41) sculpt with the head of Commander Neyo from 2007’s TAC Treachery On Saleucami Battle Packs set. As you can imagine, the combination of these parts makes for an incredible “new” action figure. BARC Trooper is very functional. He comes with a removable communications antenna and a very large chain gun. Because of his mobility, BARC Trooper is able to maneuver this large gun quite well and you can balance him holding it with relative ease. Because his legs have been slightly repositioned, BARC Trooper does have a “lean” somewhat, but this can be remedied by utilizing some clever poses to diminish it. The paint job on this figure is stupendous. It’s definitely simple as he’s mostly white still, but the yellow color flashes as well as the dirt accumulation on his armor has left a very favorable result. The final figure is very pleasing to your senses. It doesn’t take much to sell a clone these days, so Hasbro has picked a perfect candidate for the Saga Legends line to help make clone more readily available.

It’s very surprising that Hasbro hasn’t taken this kit-bashed figure and repainted it many more times. We’re sure that additional flavors of this type of clone would be eaten up by collectors all over the place. And perhaps if Hasbro did repaint it for The Legacy Collection, it may have been even more successful than this figure. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars: Purge comics, then this figure is absolutely for you. But if you’re that big of a fan you likely already picked up the BARC Trooper with Tsui Choi in the Order 66 two-pack. Whatever your choice, we definitely highly recommend the BARC Trooper for your collection. There is something special about getting a single figure on its own card back, so we would recommend getting this one. It’s not like it will harm you to get another since there were plenty of these characters in the comics. But isn’t it nice to know that even if you don’t need another one for your collection that Hasbro is picking great figures to add to the Saga Legends line? Variety is the spice of life and with clones it seems that there will be an endless supply of it. Let’s face it. We wouldn’t want it any other way. More figure selection means happier collectors. And happy collectors means Hasbro makes money to bring us even better stuff.
