Porgs - TBS [P3] - Six Inch Figures

This will be a short one, folks. Tiny products get a tiny review! You have to wonder sometimes what goes wrong during some of the planning at Hasbro. No, this isn’t going to be a “beat up on Hasbro” review, but we’ll probably never comprehend why the adorable Porgs released singly weren’t included as pack-ins with other The Black Series [Phase III] 6” figures. For $5.99, the MSRP isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either, especially since they would have been better served as accessories. And if Hasbro had to sell them by themselves, why not include a mix of four different Porgs? Are collectors really paying $3 per Porg now? The Black Series [Phase III] Porgs two-pack is everything you’d expect it to be. They’ve been packaged in an adorable miniature-sized The Black Series 6” packaging and look as adorable as ever. They appear properly scaled to other 6” figures in the line, especially Chewbacca. You can have them utilized as part of the background, or dinner for Chewbacca if you so, please. One Porg, the one that is standing, comes with four points of swivel articulation. These points include two swivel wings and two swivel legs. The wing articulation is appreciated, and it allows you to create “different” versions of this species which helps in army-building. The sitting Porg is just as precious, but you’re severely limited with how differently you can make it look in a display in your collection. The Porgs are decently painted. We don’t think that their deco is outrageously fantastic, but they don’t look bad either. We’re glad to see these available, but we think Hasbro made a wrong decision by selling them separately. These two characters should have, at the very least, been included with the TARGET exclusive Luke Skywalker (Ahch-To Island) figure. Had this been done, it might have been the selling point and it wouldn’t be selling for half off now. The Porg two-pack is a mainstream release, and you shouldn’t have any difficulty locating them at your local retailer. Expect these things to disappear before your eyes at the first sign of a markdown.
