Wow. A basic figure in The Vintage Collection hit $20.99, and we wonder if anyone of influence will speak out against this madness. While Boba Fett (Morak) comes with new tooling, 50% (or more) of the figure comes with reused parts. First released as 2022’s TVC Boba Fett (Tatooine) Deluxe figure, a Walmart exclusive, the figure came with approximately nine accessories. Hasbro took away about half of the original accessories, worked up all-new parts from the belt down, and reduced the figure by $6. It’s now a Target-exclusive action figure and also newly sourced to The Mandalorian, hence the need for new parts since Boba Fett wore lightly differing outfits in the two Disney+ series. Boba Fett (Morak) looks excellent, but we balked at its price. We don’t understand how a 3.75-inch action figure costs the same as a 6-inch figure, mainly since Hasbro utilized the tooling for an earlier figure. Hasbro should have amortized some of the tooling budgets already, so why not make this action figure more affordable? They’re pricing out a whole facet of collectors. And these actions are frustrating, defeating, and irritating when so many of us on modest budgets could afford action figures years ago, but the same isn’t true today. Plus, the new soft-goods crepe cotton skirt is frail and stringy. It falls apart as you pose the action figure. And they want $21 for this thing?

Yeah, we’re pretty irritated about the cost of this action figure, but with all of that out of the way now, we’re happy to report that this is a quality Boba Fett action figure. There isn’t much new here to take note of, but the old and new combined make for a seamless action figure. If you love The Mandalorian, you should be happy about getting the official version of Boba Fett from that Disney+ series because the first version we got was from the inefficacious The Book Of Boba Fett. It is interesting to see the similarities and differences between the two different Boba Fett figures. They each have their plusses and minuses as well. While most longtime collectors look forward to the Original Trilogy iterations of this beloved bounty hunter, there is no denying some excitement bubbling under the surface for new action figures that pay homage to this classic Star Wars villain. Temura Morrison is a little older and fuller, but it’s pretty interesting to see the same character who played Boba Fett’s father play the son in this new show. Most importantly, Hasbro developed another excellent action figure of this latest incarnation of Boba Fett and released it as a Target-exclusive figure. How does the world’s most famous bounty hunter get relegated to a store exclusive TWICE? Regardless, most collectors should adore this figure. Hasbro made it well, and its articulation is appropriate.

We’ve all heard the insult hurled at the Disney Star Wars interpretation of Boba Fett. Name-calling, including “Boba Fatt” and “Uncle Fettster,” is the most common, but many people have been ruthless to this veteran actor, primarily in how they refer to him. But Boba Fett in “original” bounty hunter armor is a world away from the character we saw wearing a brown cloak. And it’s for that sole reason we’re confident that many collectors will enjoy this action figure. It is a faithful replication of the on-screen character. Based on the character’s appearance on Morak, Boba Fett (Morak) comes with a decent amount of accessories, but nothing here covers the laughable $20.99 MSRP. This figure should cost anywhere from $12.99 to $15.99 at the most, and why Hasbro think they can continue to overcharge the collecting community by smoke and mirrors is getting tiring as it is making us angry. Let’s move on here. The portrait of this figure is the same as the one used for Boba Fett (Tatooine), and it’s stunning. It comes with slightly different paint operations this time. The total figure is gorgeous. Hasbro also used bright yellows, reds, and greens to color Boba Fett’s costume. And the removable helmet fits like a glove on the figure’s head. They ensured all of the parts interacted well with each other. Additionally, Hasbro included both a blaster pistol and a blaster rifle. There is a place in the functioning holster to store the blaster pistol, but Boba Fett will have to hold the blaster rifle at all times to complete the figure.
