Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) - TVC - Basic (VC267)

We have another obligatory action figure in The Vintage Collection from Star Wars: Andor. And this time, it’s Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission). As you might anticipate, the figure uses a lot of existing parts courtesy of 2022’s TVC Migs Mayfeld (VC229) figure. The only newness here includes an all-new head, upper arms, lower skirt, and a new cap. Also, the figure has an all-new paint job to match the on-screen character as closely as possible. But there is also some history on the Migs Mayfeld base figure. Migs Mayfeld is also a kit-bashed figure nearly 50% new at its release. That figure’s legs and cod section are from 2016’s TBS [P3] Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader figure. Unfortunately, you can’t bend the knees meaningfully, and the ball-jointed hips and swivel thighs won’t help this situation much at all. However, when they tooled the new upper body for Migs Mayfeld, they modernized the obsolete parts well. The all-new head sculpt for Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) is excellent, but the figure has “hat hair” to accommodate the removable cap. Flattening the hairstyle is a side effect of incorporating a removable head accessory. So, the option is to have a non-removable cap like The Black Series [Phase IV] Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) (A01) figure or give the figure a “flatter” head so the cap fits over the head well. In addition to the removable cap, Cassian also comes with a blaster pistol. There is a functional holster on the back of the figure, where you can place the gun when unused. The paint operations on Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) are done excellently, but nothing is notable here as the paint job is good but ordinary. We’re curious how far Hasbro will dip into the character selection for Star Wars: Andor. The response to the show appears mixed, and sometimes you need a hit out of the park to support a toy line, especially when the engagement is slipping away fast.
