Collectors got their first taste of the Star Wars: Andor series with The Black Series [Phase IV] Cassian Andor & B2EMO two-pack. The overpriced Pulsecon exclusive set had an MSRP of $55.99 and came with two all-new figures, including the main character and family heirloom droid. The figures turned out well and brought everything you’d expect to the table. This semi-colorful outfit that Cassian Andor dons in this series is one of the brightest in the entire series, and that’s not saying much in this very drab and earth-tone-rich storyline in the Star Wars universe. The all-new figure of Cassian Andor is about as good as any other figure in The Black Series 6-inch line. You’re going to get what you’re anticipating or expecting here. The figure is well made and comes with an incredible amount of high-quality articulation and detail and a fair number of accessories to help you with your posing needs. The details are rich throughout, and the paint operations look excellent here. The parka shell is removable and counted as a separate piece here, but truthfully, the figure seems wonky without it being worn or in place. We also get a blaster pistol, which fits perfectly in the figure’s right hand. The Photo Real deco in the face is beautiful, and the separate “hairpiece” perfectly captures the attitude and spirit of the character from the series. The all-new B2EMO figure is excellent as well. It’s a little too rubbery for our tastes but has a gorgeous wash and remarkable detail. Hasbro matched it to the onscreen droid well. B2EMO doesn’t come with much articulation, but that might not matter to you. It serves this figure by mostly being an environmental piece. It moves its head, and the body sections slide up to heighten it, but other than that, it offers nothing. Cassian Andor and B2EMO come in “woke” and “environmentally friendly” plastic-free packaging. It’s as laughable as it is pious and useless. Most of the box is hollow, which shows what a waste of space these boxes are for these figures. Perhaps Hasbro could reduce its “carbon footprint” by making the boxes smaller. The price is laughable. Hasbro expects you to pay nearly $60.00 for this “figure and accessory.” It’s about time you wake up and smell the coffee. They’re destroying their brand.
