Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
There are multiple background characters in The Mandalorian Disney+ series. And Hasbro is hellbent on producing all of them for their action figure line. Thankfully, they can save some tooling costs by reusing existing action figures that they can reinvent by tweaking some parts to develop characters they haven’t produced yet. We saw them turn the Death Watch Mandalorian into Axe Woves. Now, they’ve repeated this recent history by converting these figures into the Mandalorian Fleet Commander, part of the latest wave of figures based on The Mandalorian. If we didn’t know better, we may have believed that the Mandalorian Fleet Commander is the love child of Jango Fett and Finn. The blue armor and Mandalorian gear make you think of Episode II, and the portrait, while reminiscent of John Boyega (yes, the features, not the skin color), isn’t a dead ringer. We’re confident you’ll see some similarities in the least. The action figure isn’t terrible, but it’s not one of their finest efforts. The figure comes off as a little too slim, and the helmet is too loose on the figure’s head. It doesn’t stay in place like you’d wish it would. Also, we find the installation of the jetpack equally annoying. You have to ensure that you attach it in three distinct places for it to stay in place as best as possible. But when you articulate the figure, for example, it easily pops out of place, and you have to spend time to get it reinstalled. We don’t have patience for such things and find them grating. The portrait looks good, although we’re unsure if it accurately portrays the actor. We’ll leave that for you to decide. The figure comes with a single blaster pistol to help your display options out a bit more. Overall, we feel the Mandalorian Fleet Commander is a decent addition to the line, but we don’t feel confident that it will be a hit with collectors. It looks too much like Axe Woves and collectors were also seemingly indifferent about that character.
