Anakin Skywalker - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (TPM02)

Discovered as a young boy on Tatooine by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker had the potential to become one of the most powerful Jedi ever.

Hasbro has begun banging out some main characters again from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. They finally have the main character, Anakin Skywalker, out of the film. The new figure has an excellent likeness but does not have enough accessories. Don’t get us wrong. The backpack is a nice touch. But where is the grease gun? How about a collapsed pit droid? Or what about something else, like a lightsaber hilt or some tools to finish off C-3PO? If you can get past just getting a backpack here, Anakin Skywalker is a lovely action figure with a passable likeness to actor Jake Lloyd. The figure appears to be in scale with other characters from The Phantom Menace, and we’re grateful to see this. Over time, Hasbro peppered the line with a periodic Episode I character. We’ve received Jar Jar Binks, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s only a matter of time before we get other main characters and some background characters to help round out the line. Anakin Skywalker has an excellent articulation system. And we’re happy to see how well the paint operations turned out. But at $24.99, it doesn’t feel like we’re getting enough materials here to make that price palatable. Your mileage may vary, but we hope Hasbro makes releases like this more thoughtful. Action figures should come with many other things than what they currently get. The likenesses are there; the inclusive things are not.
