Jedi Master Kit Fisto flies an experimental Delta-2 starfighter on several missions during the Clone Wars. The ship can separate into two vehicles, expanding its reconnaissance and patrol capabilities. Both vessles have integrated weaponry in case of attack.
There are quite a few figures that get a lot of attention in Hasbro’s toy line, and Kit Fisto is certainly one Star Wars character that Hasbro likes to consider for release time after time. He's a staple in The Clone Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] and Hasbro decided he needed his signature vehicle to complement the figure. With that in mind, Kit Fisto’s various starfighters become viable candidates for the mid size vehicles assortment and they usually pacify collectors because they're made so well. With so many great vehicles released in The Clone Wars [Shadow of The Dark Side] line look, Hasbro now adds this Walmart exclusive into the lineup which has pleased fans of the television show greatly. Interestingly in the case of Kit Fisto, both of his Jedi starfighters to date have been exclusives. The one from 2006's The Saga Collection line was a TARGET exclusive as was based on the Tartakovsky Clone Wars micro-series. Now we get another based on the Season 1 vehicle in Filoni’s The Clone Wars television show which is of course an exclusive at Walmart. You probably know that we are much more partial to Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars, but Hasbro has crafted an excellent vehicle for Kit Fisto based on he fantastic 2008 TCW [B] Obi-Wan Kenobi's Delta Starfighter sculpt which makes most collectors very excited. This time it has been repainted with maroon, cream and green accents and it complements Kit’s beautiful green skin very nicely.
The vehicle really doesn’t offer anything new that we haven’t already seen before (as it utilizes an older sculpt), but it is cool to get another starfighter in another flavor, especially this one that looks so unique by comparison. What's more, it is from a fan favorite episode in The Clone Wars TV show which is probably why Hasbro believed it owuld be a wise choice for a store exclusive. When you can actually see the vehicles in The Clone Wars universe, it makes the play pattern of the toy all that more enthralling for kids. And it probably has the same effect on adult collectors quite frankly. The official name of Kit Fisto’s Jedi starfighter is the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor. Along with his astromech R6-H5, Kit Fisto saw quite a bit of action during the waning years of The Clone Wars. Now fans everywhere can enjoy this design in toy form, although we're still in need of his astromech droid. We really hope that Hasbro delivers unto us a 3.75” version of R6-H5 to accompany this cool vehicle. It feels naked without it. The vehicle splits into two smaller ships and both are functional like the smaller vehicles in the Deluxe/Class I line. It's a fun play feature for collectors of all ages. This starfighter has an opening cockpit which is made for the new Kit Fisto action figure perfectly and has the typical firing projectiles which Hasbro tells us makes the vehicles more engaging. Other than that, there isn’t much new here.
The Lair Of Grievous episode was very exciting for most Star Wars fans. So it's really cool to get a uniquely painted vehicle that matches its appearance in this episode. We all got a good look at Nahdar Vebb even though his first appearance was his tragic last. And we saw Kit Fisto do some major damage to General Grievous (which was reflected in the new action figure released in the first wave of this line). What wasn’t there to love? We personally tend to love any episode when Kit Fisto is a main part of the storyline because we are fond of his character. We always were. He was awesome in the Prequel Trilogy and now he is awesome in The Clone Wars. So this really accentuates why we're developing such an interest in getting his vehicle. Now let's just get his astromech droid! We're happy that Hasbro took another chance on a different Kit Fisto Jedi starfighter vehicle in 3.75" scale. It looks like some of the Jedi-specific starfighters (excluding Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi) will consistently be store exclusives as evidenced by the trends thus far. This is fine with us, because that means that they will be more available that way. And you may be surprised by this, but because this is an exclusive, it's likely we're all going to pay a few more dollars for this one that the general market releases We find this particularly odd because Walmart tends to always be cheaper.
