In a conference room on Geonosis, leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems watch Republic and Separatist forces engage in what will become the first battle of the Clone Wars. A table displays holographic images of the various skirmishes. When Count Dooku prepares to escape, he takes with him secret plans for a deadly new weapon.

Wait. Is it the Geonosian War Chamber or the Geonosian War Room? Apparently Hasbro couldn’t decide either, or maybe they did and just didn’t have enough time to correct it. If you’re not sure what we’re talking about here, Hasbro called each set by a different name, yet each set is one half of the full “diorama”. That’s a drop in the bucket anyway. The Scene Packs sub-line was a great way for Hasbro to get out new figures to the collecting community. The figures inside of them were all-new sculpts, and the price tag was a little steep. But you had to buy both sets to form a full scene specific freeze frame, in this case, from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Maybe the collecting community didn’t need another Count Dooku action figure, but we certainly needed the hoard of Separatists working underground to defeat the Army of the Republic. And these sets come with half of the tactical display table to help you recreate these moments from the film. With a hodgepodge of species and a motley crew of personality types, the Geonosian War Chamber (1 of 2) multipack brings you a few step closer to completing the character selection from Attack Of The Clones.

Inside of the package, collectors are treated to an all-new Count Dooku (why Hasbro tooled an all-new figure is beyond our comprehension) with a permanent Death Star hologram in his right hand. (We have seen this accessory removed but it damages the figure permanently if you do. ) Count Dooku has a terrible stature and an even worse center of gravity. Why Hasbro sculpted him in this fashion is quite perplexing. We imagine that you’ll have some terrible difficulty getting him to stand up in your collection as well, especially a pose that isn’t inhuman in appearance. Perhaps the most interesting figures here (but definitely not the best) is San Hill. These feeble and wimpy Muuns cower at the first sign of danger or cow tow to a leader’s strong will. Their characters didn’t seem too remarkable in the film and they came off as sniveling more than anything else. However, the action figure is a faithful representation of the character . As a nice addition, Hasbro added two ball-jointed shoulders to his articulation setup and while it doesn’t provide any meaningful movement since there aren’t any other articulation parts in the arms, it does provide a better range of motion.

We still think however that Poggle The Lesser is the star of the set. Clearly seen in Attack Of The Clones, Hasbro tooled a very fine interpretation of him in 3.75” scale. He is a rather large “bug” and much wider and more solid than a standard Geonosian, yet you know he is of the same species. He has a very grumpy face that is reminiscent of a bulldog and long facial “hair” hanging down from his face. He comes with two movable wings (via swivel articulation) six other standard points of articulation. The paint on Poggle The Lesser is fantastic. His two-toned skin accentuates a wonderful base sculpt. He has jewels in his kama and lots of gold jewelry on his person. He also comes with a neatly sculpted cane and it too comes with gold detailing against a solid white color. The multipack comes with half of the tactical display table seen in Attack Of The Clones. You need to buy the other set to complete it. Thankfully, you get three new action figures in that set too which completely makes it worth your while. If you’re a lover of all things Separatist, then this is a huge release for you. Hasbro’s action figures are getting better and in the spirit of the Kenner era, they’re making very obscure background characters to appease us. These multipacks are neat. We highly suggest them for your collection.
