Name: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Homeworld: Unknown
Born: 57 BBY
Species: Human
Height: 1.79 meters
Affiliation: Galactic Republic

A Jedi Master of legendary status, Obi-Wan Kenobi was directly involved with the meteoric rise and subsequent fall of Anakin Skywalker, his one-time Padawan and friend. Through his belief in Jedi prophecy, Obi-Wan unknowingly helped set in motion the creation of the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine and even Darth Vader himself – his most significant failure.

After uncovering the extent of the Republic's corruption and witnessing the birth of the both the Empire and the Skywalker twins, Obi-Wan enters hiding and vigilantly watches over the son of his former student. His training of Luke and subsequent death at the hands of Darth Vader set the stage to finally fulfill the Jedi Prophecy and restore balance to the Force.

You have heard this assertion ad nauseum from us. But we’re going to utter it again. For one reason or another, we feel that Star Wars licenses who make collectibles for the marketplace seem to have no trouble creating great likenesses of Obi-Wan Kenobi, no matter whether the collectible is based on the Original Trilogy or the Prequel Trilogy. With any rule, there are certainly exceptions. In fact, we can think of a few really bad likenesses of Obi-Wan Kenobi right now. But in general, whenever a toy or collectible is made based on this character, more often that not we believe you’re going to be pleased with how it turned out. It’s truly an unexplainable phenomena. Because there are two separate actors involved depending on if we’re talking about an Original Trilogy Obi-Wan, or a Prequel Trilogy one. We’re a bit off course with this review already, but just keep that in mind as we ogle the very nicely produced Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) Ultimate Quarter Scale figure from Diamond Select Toys. Despite the innate issue with the UQS buck, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) is one character that fits the mold well. Let’s look at this figure more closely.

Immediately, you’ll be taken by this figure’s head sculpt. True to form, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) looks extremely like actor Ewan McGregor. The parting of the hair and the facial hair are perfectly styled and colored. His auburn/brown hair has hints of gray hair throughout and we couldn’t be more pleased with how Diamond Select Toys decorated the portrait. Keep in mind that these aren’t intended to be high-end collectibles, so the paint job is not “artistic” in the sense that he appears lifelike. But this figure still looks fantastic and there is no denying that this looks exactly like Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. What is even better is that the greatness of this figure doesn’t end in the head sculpt. It’s only the beginning. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) shines also because of the clothing that has been given to him and he comes with a generous amount of simple accessories making him a very fun release. First the costume. We’re amazed by the palette of fabrics Diamond Select Toys can access for the figures in their Ultimate Quarter Scale line. Between the multiple layers and the differing fabrics, you can tell that they spared no expense to ensure these figures would be as screen accurate as possible, both in likeness and in dressing.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) has been given a soft dark brown undershirt. On top of it, he has been layered with an imitation crepe wool styled short, tabards and cummerbund. He also comes with cotton pants and a faux leather belt with real metal details. The sleeves bell out and cover up most of his hands, just like in the film. And the outer layered shirt is long enough so that is falls to his thighs. This costume is expertly tailored and isn’t bulky or ill-fitted. He truly looks fantastic. Diamond Select toys also weathered his “leather” belt to give it a worn appearance. As you can see, we are quite impressed with how well Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) looks and we think everything about him is incredible. He also says four phrases. “Chancellor Palpatine, Sith Lords are our specialty.” “With all due respect, Master, is he not the Chosen One? Is he not to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force?” “Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes.” “You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them. Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in Darkness.” What a great set of lines from the film, no? Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith) may be one of the nicest figures in the Ultimate Quarter Scale line. If we had to pick one, it would probably be this one.
