First Order Snowtrooper Officer - TBS [P3] - Six Inch Figures (Exclusive)

Jedi Temple Archives was first to break the news that a Star Wars Episode VII The Black Series 6” Blue Trooper was coming.... and now it’s finally here. The “Blue” designation doesn’t make too much sense to us yet, but this name appears on the shipping carton as well as electronic listings in Toys R Us stores’ computers. Much to the satisfaction of lovers of The Black Series 6” line, the First Order Snowtrooper Officer turned out inexplicably better than anticipated. And that’s saying a great deal for a figure that most of us know absolutely nothing about until the film is released. A general release First Order Snowtrooper will be coming shortly after this one, but because the figures are essentially the same toy, collectors will have a pretty good idea of what they can expect when the regular version is released to the public. In all honesty, the First Order Snowtrooper Officer stands out as one of the finest released in The Black Series [Phase III] line look to date. All of the figures in this line for the most part have turned out exceedingly well, but even in this group of good company, the First Order Snowtrooper Officer shines, literally and figuratively, above the rest. A Toys R Us exclusive, it is believed that there will be plenty to go around. But with any exclusive, we always encourage readers to buy them as soon as you see them. The First Order Snowtrooper Officer will be a hot commodity ironically and collectors will undoubtedly be wanting more than one. So don’t be passive about this one.

The design of the First Order Snowtrooper Officer is stunning. Although we feel these characters resemble those solid and undetailed white mannequins you may find at department stores (because of their lack of discriminating details), they still look pretty sharp nonetheless. This First Order Snowtrooper Officer has an incredible amount of textures etched into its sculpt from head to toe. And the simple a few black details that help shape its personality actually work towards the figure’s benefit than against it. You know how Boba Fett just looked awesome for existing. Well, maybe not as strongly, but that’s about where we’d similarly rank our interest in the First Order Snowtrooper Officer The Black Series 6” figure. All of the elements of the Original Trilogy Snowtrooper characters are in place here. A removable survival backpack, a First order blaster, and a removable kama (incredible option to make it removable, Hasbro!) are included here. Oh, and let’s not forget the “Sandtrooper (Squad Leader)” pauldron too, as that is the ONLY extra part of the costume that separates him from the regular infantry soldiers. But instead of appearing with a similarly strong “live in look” the First Order Snowtrooper Officer is extremely clean and shiny. And we hope this is the way that they’ll be represented in the film. There isn’t one ounce of dirt on him and that is fine by us. When fully assembled, this figure is brilliant. And it brings a level of joy we haven’t felt in the Star Wars line for a while now.

With an outstanding 28 points of articulation, the First Order Snowtrooper Officer can attain every pose you desire (and probably a whole bunch more we just haven’t thought of yet). We’re thanking the Maker that none of the “troopers” in The Force Awakens range have removable helmets, and we’re just as thankful in The Black Series [Phase III] line as well. Forgoing removable helmets ensures that helmets stay in scale with the rest of the figure and it also ensures that the aesthetics, both with the character’s helmet and head maintain some scale integrity. After some reconsideration, you may start to feel that this action figure is a little too white and clean. But we believe that you’ll get over that rather quickly once you realize the quality of the action figure and the precision of the fine details on the starkly white armor system. With a very Ralp McQuarrie-esque style to the not only the deco on the figure, but also the shape of the various parts of the armor, we are certain that even the most discriminating collectors will be interested in securing the First Order Snowtrooper Officer for their collections. This may be the one figure that will be a catalyst for those who refuse to buy anything from the 6” action figure line. Five points of articulation figures can be hit or miss with how they ultimately look, but they can NEVER attain the dramatic poses that a The Black Series 6” figure can. The First Order Snowtrooper Officer has it all. And you should have him.
