"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."
The adventure continues with this exciting introduction of figures from the Star Wars trilogy! Each figure is authentically styled with incredible detail and is fully poseable.

Immersed in debris, Han and Luke soon realize that the walls of the trash compactor are closing in on them.

You have to hand it to Kenner/Hasbro for thinking outside of the box as often as they do. When there is a need to reintroduce a character they’ve already produced in a certain collection, they find ways to tweak it a bit and make it new for the collecting community. This is true for The Power Of The Force “2” [FlashBack/CommTech] Luke Skywalker [With Dianoga Tentacle] Action Collection 12 Inch Figure. Instead of repackaging the earlier release, his time they tooled an all-new “wet head” portrait, added some dirt splattered on his Stormtrooper armor from the trash compactor, and most importantly, a tentacle from the dreadful dianoga beast that dwells among the garbage. Sadly, the figure is far from perfection, and collectors will likely be disappointed in the final figure. But we appreciate the effort taken to make this release unique and different from the previous version in the Action Collection line.

Why Kenner/Hasbro thought it would be wisest to tool separate Stormtrooper armor parts and sew them onto the figure is beyond our comprehension. A bulkiness forms that shouldn’t be present, but it’s unavoidable thanks to the large thick buck underneath the armor (because it’s a GI Joe body) and the ill-fitted armor pieces on top of it. It’s a terrible combination, and it doesn’t work in the Star Wars Action Collection line at all. Why not approach this figure like the vintage Kenner Stormtrooper Large Size Action Figure instead? Why can’t they tool an articulated Stormtrooper body and then change head sculpts as needed? This technique would preserve the integrity of the athletic frame of a Stormtrooper, pay homage to the original figure, and provide collectors with aesthetically pleasing versions of these characters. Right now, Luke Skywalker is looking too bloated.

Luke Skywalker comes with basic accessories, and then an interesting accessory. He comes with a removable Stormtrooper helmet. Like the armor, the Stormtrooper helmet is too rounded and large, and looks more like something from a cartoon, than a screen-accurate interpretation of the on-screen prop. It contains foam rubber squares glued inside of it, so it stays placed on the figure’s head sculpt. By the way, the new head sculpt of Luke Skywalker is below average for us. It’s too narrow, and the “wet head” effect doesn’t work all that well. When the helmet is on the figure’s head, Luke Skywalker looks like any random Stormtrooper. It hides the head sculpt well. He also comes with an E-11 blaster, which also looks huge. And as you know, they’ve been updating to fire red projectiles for extra play value. Lastly, Kenner/Hasbro added a bendy dianoga tentacle that believably wraps around him. It’s the best part of this release.
