The Empire prepares to crush the Rebellion with a second, more powerful Death Star. As the Rebel fleet mounts a massive attack on the dreaded space station, Luke Skywalker confronts his father, Darth Vader, in a climactic duel before the evil Emperor. In the last second, Vader makes a momentous choice: he destroys the Emperor and saves his son. The Empire is finally defeated, the evil Sith are destroyed, and Anakin Skywalker is redeemed. At long last, freedom is restored to the galaxy.

Princess Leia disguises herself as a bounty hunter named Boushh as part of an elaborate plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, who is displaying the carbon-frozen body of Solo in his palace on Tatooine. The daring and dangerous rescue is successful, and Leia de-activates the carbonite to thaw Solo and release him from his frozen state.

The Star Wars “Saga” [Phase I] line continued the trends of the Power Of The Jedi line, where Hasbro housed products from across the Star Wars saga under one banner. While there wasn’t an official “Attack Of The Clones” product line look, many of the toys released in 2002 and 2003 were based on that film. But Hasbro also remained faithful to the Original Trilogy too by adding characters from the first three Star Wars films into the basic figure line and added general marketplace and retailer exclusive 12 Inch Figures as well. The Princess Leia (In Boushh Disguise) & Han Solo (In Carbonite) set brings two characters offered in the 12 Inch Figure line previously, but this time Hasbro raised the bar and produced two new “figures” with better likenesses, details, and features. Princess Leia (In Boushh Disguise) has a fantastic likeness to actress Carrie Fisher and comes with rooted hair. The figure also comes with a removable helmet, the extra-long staff, and a thermal detonator for threatening Jabba the Hutt. But perhaps the star of this set is the electronic Han Solo (In Carbonite), which is nothing more than an extravagant accessory here. Thanks to three AA batteries and a press of the button, you can “recreate” the melting feature and release Han Solo from his frozen prison. The only difference here is that we don’t get another Han Solo 12 Inch Figure. All that is included here is the carbonite block with light-up features. A Toys R Us exclusive, the Princess Leia (In Boushh Disguise) & Han Solo (In Carbonite) set retails for a palatable $39.99. It’s a nice exclusive, and it should interest collectors of all types.
