"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."

The adventure continues with this exciting introduction of exclusive figures from the Star Wars trilogy! Each figure is authentically styled with incredible detail.

During rigorous training on Dagobah, Yoda teaches Luke the ways of the Force.

When Kenner/Hasbro announced that they’d be producing smaller-scaled characters for the Action Collection, one figure that hit the top of most collectors’ wish lists was Yoda. Thankfully, Kenner/Hasbro obliged them and ensured the diminutive Jedi Master was part of the first assortment. Designed and produced in 1997, the first three figures (including Yoda) hit store shelves end of December/beginning of January with welcoming arms from the collecting community. An admirable effort, Yoda isn’t definitive by any means. But Kenner/Hasbro developed an excellent head sculpt that looks like the puppet from The Empire Strikes Back. Yet interestingly, something about Yoda’s head sculpt ever-so-slightly looks off as well (just a little). Yoda comes with a swivel head and hinge-jointed neck combination joint. It gives the figure decent movement, and the joints are hidden well. They also added a soft-goods cloak, which looks like burlap and has an excellent drape. The other accessories here include a belt and a cane. Sadly, there is no snake accessory, and we find that disappointing. Yoda comes with a decent paint job. Kenner/Hasbro added a final wash that accumulated in the wrinkles in Yoda’s face. The wash helps to frame the unique features of the character. We’d love to see Kenner/Hasbro add more articulation in these smaller-scaled figures. But Yoda is a nice-looking figure despite this.
