Aurra Sing is a force-sensitive bounty hunter, mercenary and assassin. She is willing to work for anyone who can meet her price. She provides her expert sniper skills to Cad Bane on Coruscant. Her skills are well known in the criminal underworld, many aspiring hunters seek her out for training despite her reputation as a cold-hearted taskmaster.

Aurra Sing is a Star Wars character that really took Star Wars collecting by storm. Barely appearing in The Phantom Menace, she immediately kindled a strong interest in fans due to her unique look and bizarre/untraditional sex appeal. We did get an action figure of her in 2001 (Nearly two years after the release of the film) and while the sculpt was pretty good, the articulation leave quite a bit to be desired in 2010. Rumors abound that a new version will be forthcoming very soon to collectors, but we will wait until the announcement is official before we get our hopes set high. One of the few Power Of The Jedi figures to receive some ball-jointed articulation, Aurra Sing overall delivered a fairly good product, but collectors now want premium articulation in their figures and especially for bounty hunters. While we still wait on the edge of our seat for a realistic styled version of her, collectors have now been treated to the first animated version of her. Aurra Sing in The Clone Wars line is another stellar figure and we expect that she will remain a hot commodity in the basic figure line for some time. With a sculpt that should knock your socks off and a likeness that is so near perfect it’s eerie, Aurra Sing is proof positive that Hasbro must have an affectionate spot for the character as well as no expense was spared to make he as perfect as can be. Aurra Sing is truly a masterpiece in every way and she is probably the star action figure of the first wave of The Clone Wars “Shadow Of The Dark Side” line.

Aurra Sing’s outfit is so cool. Hasbro unwittingly matched the same red/orange color of it to what TARGET uses for their logo and inside their stores. She could moonlight as a TARGET employee probably. But all joking aside, her outfit is cast in a most striking color and it captures your attention immediately. It is nice and tight and fits all the right portions of her extremely voluptuous from very well. Hasbro did a fantastic job on her head sculpt. The likeness is perfect to the animated series. And her zombie like skin tone and dark circles around her eyes are expertly captured forever here. Her ponytail is quite large and long, but not out of proportion to the head. One particular feature of her head bothers us however and that is her antenna. When looking at it straight on, it looks pretty awesome, but when you look at it from side view, you realize that Hasbro has essentially driven a stake into her scalp. It is way too thick and to be honest, the completely wrong color. Hasbro has the ability to give skinny and thin action figures like Aurra Sing super-articulation, yet they can’t accurately recreate a thin post that sticks in her head? We do not understand this at all. This is definitely aesthetically displeasing, and we haven’t found a way to remove it yet if we can at all. But while we have already been very vocal about this, we don’t think it affects our overall satisfaction over the figure. Aurra Sing still shines like the starts in pretty much every other way. Her ultra-articulated body frame will excite you and the finest sculpting details like her long fingers will floor you. She truly does score high marks from us.

Loaded with 22 points of articulation, Aurra Sing is absolutely as dream for collectors. She has great posture and a strong center of gravity. If you figure has the propensity to fall backwards, a simple adjustment of her ankles will remedy this very quickly for you. She also has a separately molded belt which hangs beautifully at the hips and it complements her red outfit very nicely. Outfitted with two blaster pistols that store perfectly in her hip holsters and a large rifle that is basically as tall as her, Aurra Sing is the perfect femme fatale/bounty hunter/assassin for you collection. Part of The Clone Wars line, action figures now come with a statistics playing card and well as action figure stand and die. (Get your old fishbowl or candy jar out and start filling them up with dice!) We bet most collectors won’t even both to try to figure out how to play this game, but one thing we know from the presentation at Toy Fair 2010, there will be a definitive winner when playing this game. (Pi-shoo! Pi-shoo!) And yes, this is an inside joke to all our friends who attended Toy Fair 2010 with us. But we suppose it’s at the very least nice to get some extra “stuff” in your action figure purchase and we admit that the bio/stats cards are pretty cool. Aurra Sing is definitely already a high ranking figure for us and we bet she will be a strong figure for pretty much anyone buying the new The Clone Wars line. Action figures have come so far and we hope that the realistic version of Aurra Sing follows the same protocol as this figure has.
