Well, it’s now evident that Hasbro views The Vintage Collection collector base as dumb as The Black Series 6” community. How in the world does an accessory become the center of a basic figure? Only with the current modern Hasbro Star Wars Team do things like this transpire. The Child is worth no more than a couple of dollars at most. Sure, it’s an essential character, but it’s no more than an accessory. Hasbro appeared to attempt to smooth things over with an off-white pram with orange-yellow details, but no matter your assessment, everyone can agree that setting the MSRP to $12.99 for this basic figure release is egregious. Hasbro should have packed The Child as an accessory only. And if they must include other things like a frog and pram, they should sell them all in a deluxe release, as they did for Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) (VC177). However, that set was $17.99, so how in the world is this one only five dollars less and is missing a super-articulated action figure? As you can see, we’re quite irritated with Hasbro to release Grogu by itself. To make matters worse, Hasbro packed The Child two per case. What kind of madness is that? Princess Leia (Bespin Escape) is one per case. What are they smoking?

The Child comes with an all-new head sculpt. And aside from the repainted pram, that’s about all of the newness collectors receive here. Hasbro should have gone out of their way to produce many other exclusive accessories here, but for one reason or another, they feel it’s good enough to provide what they did and nothing more. The figure comes with limited articulation, and it’s hardly a viable candidate alone in The Vintage Collection. If you think about it, we’ve received more meaningfully articulated action figures in the loathed 5POA line. Yes, the nature of Grogu’s body makes it nearly impossible to include more articulation, but that’s why this character should be an “accessory” and nothing more. We’re flabbergasted that we have to count this figure as part of the line. Perhaps it would have behooved Hasbro to include Grogu on a miniature Kenner-inspired card as they did for Salacious Crumb (VC66) and the Mouse Droid (VC67) from 2011’s TVC Revenge Of The Jedi [Death Star II] San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. The release of The Child by itself sticks in our craw, and it’s an uncomfortable feeling. Let the 6” collectors pay $30 for Jar Jar Binks (TPM01) and the Gamorrean Guard, but don’t try this nonsense with The Vintage Collection collectors. We won’t accept it.
