The boisterous bruiser of the Bad Batch, Wrecker has brute strength that makes him capable of lifting a clone gunship without any help. His muscle and size are matched only by his temper... and an equally pronounced sense of humor.

It’s a bonafide fact. The Bad Batch appears universally praised, and most Star Wars fans interested in the show see that it has endless potential. And as long as “some” people have creative oversight and keep “others” away, the Disney+ series should have a lengthy lifespan. The Bad Batch is a motley crew of unique individuals. And Hasbro spent a lot of tooling dollars to design action figures that faithfully reflect the exciting and distinct character traits of those that make up The Bad Batch. Wrecker is no exception. And this character is the largest of all the members. Hasbro designed an extensive action figure interpretation of the on-screen character, but The Black Series 6-inch figure comes off looking a little too rotund compared to the character we see in the show. That said, Hasbro concocted a half-realistic, half-animated style for this action figure. But some of the features didn’t come out as perfectly as we’d hoped. Still, the final action figure is quite an impressive effort. It’s large, weighty, and comes with a ton of articulation. From these perspectives, Wrecker is a satisfying action figure. What isn’t satisfying is the cost. It’s sickening.

That said, we’re offended Hasbro believes they’re entitled to set the MSRP at $29.99. Wrecker falls under the “false” Deluxe sub-line. But all that means is that Hasbro wants you to cover their tooling costs instead of working it into the line as they did successfully in years past. Before the 6-inch line, a Deluxe figure meant that the action figure came with a miniature-scaled vehicle. Or electronic features. Or a creature. Today it means an all-new figure that’s over budget and comes with minimal accessories “spread apart” to look like there is more in the box than there is. Hasbro hopes 6-inch collectors believe a standard-sized action figure with some thicker girth translates into $10 more out of your wallets. They hope that the consumer won’t notice they’re pulling the wool over your eyes. As we’ve said for months now, The Black Series 6-inch Deluxe line is a scam. Hasbro can’t defend this cockamamie sub-line any longer. Jar Jar Binks (TPM01) might be the biggest rip-off of all Deluxe figures to date, but it’s also a crime that Hasbro released Boba Fett (ROTJ06) in the Deluxe format as well. And let’s not forget the GameStop exclusive Cal Kestis (GG02), a repaint with a new “hat,” yet $10 more than the standard release. The madness has to stop.

The well-sculpted Wrecker is beautiful. Hasbro replicated the scarred head magnificently. The milky eyeball makes your stomach turn, and the burns on the left side of the figure’s face give you pause and almost make you want to empathize with this character and the injuries sustained. The characters from The Bad Batch are primarily dark gray, and the same is true for Wrecker. But if you scan the figure carefully, you’ll find red and white details and symbols of skulls and other things throughout the armor. Wrecker is strong enough to lift a Republic Gunship supposedly, but the action figure comes moderately accessorized, and you might not know the character’s strength. Hasbro included the “Republic Commando” blaster rifle. You can get the action figure to hold the gun with both hands with a bit of force, but it is a slight challenge. Hasbro installed a permanent sheath for the included knife accessory. It looks realistic and has a serrated edge at the top and a smooth and sharp blade at the bottom. Also included is a highly detailed backpack that is easily removable for alternate display. Lastly, Hasbro tooled a tightly fitting bucket for the figure’s bald head. You have to use some elbow grease to get it onto the head, but it fits like a glove and completely covers it when worn. Our only complaint about Wrecker is the price because this is a $19.99 action figure. End of story. Mic drop.
