With Han frozen in carbonite and held in Jabba's Palace, the Princess planned a rescue. Leia, disguised as bounty hunter Boushh, brought Chewbacca to Jabba and later snuck to Han's carbonite slab.

The Black Series Archive line’s original intention was to get some of the earliest and high-demand 6-inch figures out to retail again, but with updated and enhanced Photo Real deco. Lately, Hasbro has taken the line into uncharted territory and begun aggressive updates to action figures that didn’t meet collectors’ expectations at the first release. Take, for instance, The Force Awakens Han Solo. It got an all-new portrait and a fabulous new paint job. Now, Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) receives reworked and shortened upper legs to give the figure a shorter and a height closer to screen accuracy. (The figure still seems a bit too tall, but not by much.) If you recall, back in 2015, the collecting community mocked the first release of Princess Leia Organa (Boushh). They accused Hasbro of no longer trying to make quality 6-inch action figures because Leia was as tall as the male counterparts in the lineup. And the deco was dreadful. Thankfully, and a long seven years later, Hasbro revisits the Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) action figure and works in better coloring, Photo Real technology, and some impressively subtle retooling to help the figure’s overall aesthetics. We think this one is going to be a hit within the community.

Thanks to its updates and enhancements, Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) is now a beautiful action figure. We have many other characters and accessories to display next to this figure, making its re-release all the more relevant. Collectors want to build a collection of these things to scale to one another. We can do that now, especially with the 40th anniversary of Return Of The Jedi. Collectors want to world-build wherever possible. They don’t want “one-off” action figures. But sometimes, it takes years to build up a cast of characters appearing in various scenes together in the Star Wars saga. We are hard-pressed not to assess that Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) is almost perfect now. We are confident you’ll feel similarly. Sure, the action figure has an older articulation system, but how often does Hasbro retool their older figures to fix the mistakes of ages past? We believe we should count ourselves fortunate here because the updates make this figure look fantastic. Collectors who don’t have this figure yet should give it a chance. It looks refreshed, newish, and perfect for The Black Series Archive line. It’s amazing what a little TLC will do for an older action figure to make it relevant again.

Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) is built similarly to the 3.75-inch counterpart released first in The Black Series [Phase II] line and then again in The Vintage Collection lineup with Photo Real updating. Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) comes with five awesome accessories. The removable helmet fits nicely and tightly over the figure’s head and is beautifully painted and seemingly screen-accurate. The staff/force pike is long, thin, and excellently detailed, yet it has substance and won’t bow too easily. The bandolier is nicely detailed, and the attached soft-goods cape is updated. It no longer has a cotton/canvas texture and is softer this time. The drape is more rigid this time, so that’s a minor setback here. The removable canister pack also looks excellent and has Aurebesh on it and provides the necessary resources for when Boushh’s foreign language. (Did you know that Pat Welsh, the actress who voiced E.T., also voiced Boushh?) Still, for us, the best part of this figure is the thermal detonator. It is a separate accessory that fits into the left hand and plugs into the belt when unused. It seems all we need now is a 6-inch Chewbacca in chains to complete the scenes with this figure. This figure is a significant update. Be sure not to miss out!
