Formidable and specialized in close combat, these droids employ a combination of brute strenght and rugged durability to capture and incapacitate enemies.

Hasbro released a few new characters in both scales from the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor video game in a timely fashion. And you know it’s timely if the figures arrive before the video game. Don’t worry. Hasbro broke no new ground here. Every action figure released is a repaint of a previously existing action figure. The most notable repaint, however, is the new B1 Battle Droid. It’s one of the more colorful Battle Droid figures released in the line. Mostly gray, you’ll also find flashes of maroon and cream throughout the figure. Most striking and perhaps disconcerting is the all-white backpack. It doesn’t match the rest of the figures and sticks out like a sore thumb. But it’s a unique take on the design of the Battle Droid, and collectors may find it an interesting addition to the lineup. In addition to the removable backpack, the B1 Battle Droid also comes with the signature droid blaster. It fits nicely into the figure’s hands and is also stored on the side of the backpack when not in use. The figure has excellent articulation, and you’re able to pose the figure in a variety of ways, both in action and collapsed. Sometimes the figure is a bit difficult to pose thanks to its spindly legs, but with a little patience, anything is possible. The B1 Battle Droid is a GameStop exclusive with an MSRP set at a ridiculous $27.99. And with the plastic-free packaging, the box has almost no weight. We would be surprised if it registers anything on an electric scale. Hasbro wrapped the figure in crappy tissue paper with the “Gaming Greats” logo. And then, they packaged the accessories in a sealed tissue paper baggie. It’s a ridiculous way to package action figures. And it seems that, generally speaking, collectors are not happy with The Black Series’ new look.
