Obi-Wan Kenobi is set years after the climactic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced the corruption of his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Has Hasbro given up on The Black Series 6-inch line? It certainly fills that way when they take the laziest paths possible to produce new versions of existing characters. To create Obi-Wan Kenobi (Tibidon Station), Hasbro took Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) (OWK01) figure and painted the shirt blue, and called it a day. This approach is screen-inaccurate because there are many different nuances between the two costumes that would require slightly new tooling throughout the figure. But if you can get past the shortcuts, the figure looks nice despite this. A Target exclusive, the overpriced action figure comes with a new soft-goods cape and plastic molded backpack. Hasbro also includes a lightsaber that breaks down into a hilt and a detachable blue lightsaber blade. All of the accessories with this figure interact with it beautifully, and they developed the soft-goods cape wonderfully as it fits Obi-Wan Kenobi like a glove. The paint operations throughout the figure look clean. And the head sculpt is excellent and faithfully captures the likeness of the on-screen character. You’re going to like what Hasbro accomplished here. They did a mostly fine job despite the figure’s inaccuracies. From Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, it’s unknown how well this figure will perform at retail as the show didn’t meet the expectations of many. And with the consistent laziness of Hasbro’s recent action figure making, it seems like we’re going to need a miracle so Hasbro can create newness for retailer-exclusive action figures. This action figure has an MSRP of $26.99 and hit stores in December 2022.
