Young clone Omega travels in tow with her brothers, the Bad Batch. Armed with her trusty energy bow, she is indispensible on their adventures across a rapidly changing galaxy.
The Bad Batch appears universally panned as one of the most boring Star Wars sources of all time, and with a boring storyline comes bland characters. The horrid little girl known as Omega has a costume change in the series, and Hasbro produced this iteration for Star Wars collectors under the guise of Omega (Mercenary Gear), which doesn’t mean much more than a change of clothes, a helmet, and the same energy bow. Hasbro did well here. In addition to the energy bow, we get a collapsed energy bow, which plugs into the back of the figure for storage. But perhaps most importantly, we get an interchangeable portrait, which Hasbro claims is much too expensive to include with most other Star Wars action figures. That said, we find the un-helmeted portrait eerie and ghoulish. It reminds us of Chucky from Good Guys fame, but blond instead of a redhead. The heads are easy to exchange on the figure; we’re thankful for that. And despite Omega’s short stature, we get a lot of meaningful movement out of the figure’s articulation system. Hasbro beautifully applied the paint operations throughout the figure. And when you weigh in everything included here, we feel that Hasbro could have done worse with the figure’s value. You do get a notable amount of plastic here for the MSRP. However, we don’t know how well the figure will do when all is said and done. Disney Star Wars sources don’t have the magic of George Lucas’ Star Wars, and the apathy is ever-growing. It’s a shame that well-made action figures like Omega will likely get overlooked because fans aren’t interested in the content. But if you like this tomboy, Hasbro has done her up well. But one thing, Omega cannot be a clone. It's biologically impossible.
Status: Omega (Mercenary Gear) is mostyl all-new figure that reuses the legs from 2022's TBS [P4] Omega (Kamino) (TBB10) figure.
