Toy
Fair 2007 – Final Thoughts
Toy Fair 2007 is now in the books! We had a great time braving the blistering
winds of New York this year, but that was much better than the 25+ inches of snow
we had last year. We met up with members from quite a few other Star Wars Collectible
Web sites, traveled around and had dinner with Arnie and Marjorie from the Star
Wars Action News team, and enjoyed looking at what some of the other non-Star
Wars toy
vendors had to offer.
We'll leave you this year with a small gallery
from around the Toy Fair showroom, to help give you an idea of how big the event
really is. The series of pictures showing the showroom floor from above only covers
the top floor. There is a whole second floor below that one, and just as packed!
Most of the Star Wars coverage is done
off-site, such as Hasbro and Gentle Giant. LEGO held their pre-coverage during their
annual Collector's Party, but they also have a private, closed-off booth on the showroom
floor. You can visit that booth by appointment only. Sideshow Collectibles was set
up on the 1st floor of The Javits Center, while Master Replicas/Corgi and Attakus
were on the lower floor. All across the city, Star Wars collectibles were
very well represented. For a non-movie year, the product coming out from all lines
will keep you working overtime to pay for it all!
The lobby
is always a colorful treat of excitement, with vendors and entertainers keeping everyone
happy while they wait to go in. Last year we were treated to the musical stylings
of William Hung (you remember him, don't you?), this year there were dancing/singing
characters of a very strange nature. We couldn't quite agree on what exactly they
were, except that they would most likely give kids nightmares if they saw them.
Enjoy our miscellaneous pictures from Toy Fair 2007,
and stop by our Toy Fair Roundup below the gallery to see what everyone else from
around the Star Wars collecting world had to say about Star Wars at Toy Fair this
year.
Toy
Fair Roundup
JTA was not the only Web site on hand
for Star
Wars coverage. We've put together
a small roundup of all our friends across the web, and their thoughts and photos
from Toy Fair 2007! If you have some coverage from Toy Fair 2007 and we don't have
you listed here, drop us an email and we will be happy to add you to the roundup!
